Our teams are contributing to next-generation autonomy and ADAS active safety systems through core algorithms, data-driven approaches, and efficient architectures. </div><div><br /></div><div><b>WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR</b></div><div>We are looking for a systems-minded engineer with experience in AD/ADAS to develop a state-of-the-art motion planner for autonomous driving. You will also contribute to the design and deployment of our hybrid planner by leveraging the strength of data driven and rule-based approaches to improve our next-generation autonomous vehicles. The ideal candidate will have domain expertise in motion planning, be familiar with machine learning solutions, have built and deployed real-world autonomous driving products, and have worked in a fast-paced environment along with other highly talented engineers. </div><div><br /></div><h3>RESPONSIBILITIES</h3><ul><li>Design, develop, deploy, and evaluate state-of-the-art algorithms and capabilities for vehicle motion planning.</li><li>Integrate the machine learning model in the motion planning stack.</li><li>Use metrics to measure, validate, improve performance through testing in simulation and on roads.</li><li>Design reusable software components as part of an integrated system.</li><li>Understand and fulfill the software practices that produce maintainable code, including simulation, continuous integration, code review, HIL testing, and in-vehicle testing.</li><li>Collaborate closely with teams like Perception, Control, Simulation, Infrastructure, Tooling to drive unified solutions.</li></ul><h3>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</h3><ul><li>M.S., Ph.D., or equivalent, in Robotics, Control, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or other quantitative fields.</li><li>3+ years of experience in the development of motion planning algorithms, e.g. trajectory optimization, sampling-based planning, model predictive control, and machine learning.</li><li>Hands-on experience with architecture design and building a planning stack for autonomous robots.</li><li>Strong programming skills in C++.</li><li>An excellent communicator, skilled collaborator, and principled colleague.</li><li>Strong R&amp;D potential in algorithm design, data-driven approaches to safety, and large-scale systems architecture.</li><li>A strong, practical understanding of real-time system development, performance issues, testing modalities, and tradeoffs.</li></ul><h3>NICE TO HAVE</h3><ul><li>Experience in Python or other programming languages.</li><li>Experience with code compliance and embedded systems.</li><li>Experience with hardware-in-the-loop design.</li><li>Experience in writing production-level code in a real-time operating system.</li></ul><div>For positions based in Palo Alto, CA, the base pay for this position ranges from $140,000- $230,000 a year.</div><div><br /></div><div>Your base salary is one part of your total compensation.
