Based in the heart of Berlin, with over 300 employees from around the world, we work together to create high-quality casual games with engaging stories at the core of the experience.</p></div><p></p> <div>As a 2D Character Artist at Wooga you will work closely with designers, engineers, product managers, producers, writers and other artists to create visually stunning, game characters for Wooga’s hit game - Junes Journey! You will have the opportunity to work at the cutting edge of game development, with access to our proprietary AI toolset, and trainings on it.</div> <div> </div> <div>About the role:</div> <ul> <li>Ensure high-quality, photorealistic character designs with accurate anatomy and attention to detail.</li> <li>Collaborate with writing and peers from character team to create a compelling cast for new storylines of June’s Journey, capturing personality, history and emotion.</li> <li>Create convincing characters poses and expressions and set them up in animation ready files.</li> <li>Create illustrations of compelling story moments with the games characters.</li> <li>Maintain consistency with the established art style, whilst infusing creativity and freshness within the realm of the style.</li> <li>Collaborating with team in maintaining and updating documentation.</li> <li>Open and ready to utilize Woogas in-house AI technology as a finishing tool to bring artist-driven concepts to a final, polished state with greater efficiency.</li> </ul> <div>About you:</div> <ul> <li>You have a strong portfolio of realistic character designs with accurate anatomy and a great sense of costume design, showing quality, taste, and the ability to create a photorealistic/believable look.</li> <li>You demonstrate a strong understanding of scale, proportion, human anatomy, surface properties, and the distribution and purpose of detail.</li> <li>You possess excellent rendering and design skills with the ability to adapt to established styles.</li> <li>You can effectively apply colour theory to evoke mood/character appeal.</li> <li>You have proficient digital illustration skills with an advanced understanding of Photoshop.</li> <li>You have experience working effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve shared objectives and ensure alignment across departments.</li> <li>You can provide respectful and actionable feedback to colleagues and welcome constructive feedback given to you, with the ultimate goal of improving team performance and outcomes.</li> </ul> <p></p><div><p><strong><span>Please note: Research has shown that some under-represented groups in the gaming industry (eg: women) tend to apply only if they meet every single requirement.
