Work would include definition of customer product requirements, evaluation and selection of product architecture, determination of project feasibility, estimating costs and preparing development schedules. </li><li>Perform role of project team lead designer and team technical mentor. Also act as the customer facing technical expert for the project team. </li><li>Design and develop embedded software on top of Wind River products. </li><li>Design and develop complete solutions requiring device driver development, board configurations, operating system configuration and bootloaders.</li><li>Full lifecycle support including requirements, architecture, design, implementation, testing, test automation, documentation, reviewing of peers work, etc.</li></ul>  ABOUT YOUCore Competencies &amp; Demonstrated Success<ul><li>Experience developing embedded real-time systems on various architectures</li><li>Strong troubleshooting, design and architecture experience</li><li>Several years of C/C++ language expertise</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Track record of estimating and completing software development tasks on time</li><li>Self-motivated, independent, and comfortable working directly with customer</li><li>Ability to independently formulate direction given vague requirements</li><li>Direct customer interface experience with a track record of achieving high levels of customer satisfaction</li><li>Demonstrated strength in planning and organization; effectiveness as a team leader; drive and perseverance in accomplishing goals; professional integrity; adaptability to new projects; resourcefulness; energy and motivation to initiate and complete tasks; and enthusiasm building expertise in the technology</li><li>Experience working with and guiding international teams is a plus</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelors Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent</li><li>3-15 years of overall software development experience (RTOS)</li><li>Hands-on experience working with embedded and real-time operating systems (VxWorks preferred)</li><li>Expect up to 10% domestic and international travel</li><li>This role requires either US Citizenship or a Green Card and for the resource to be based in the United States or approved territory</li><li>Some experience with Safety Certification standards like DO-178C, ISO 26262, IEC 62304, etc. desired</li><li>Embedded Linux experience also desired</li><li>This is a hybrid position reporting to an existing Wind River office in Walnut Creek, CA, Cupertino, CA, San Diego, CA, Washington D.C., Troy, MI or Boston, MA.</li><li>Candidates with fewer qualifications may be considered for more junior positions.</li></ul> Benefits<ul><li>Flexible home office!
