Apply now and join the Wherobots team!<h2>Responsibilities</h2><ul><li>Design and implement scalable and efficient backend systems to support our geospatial cloud database, AI workloads, and control plane</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, identify technical solutions, and deliver high-quality software</li><li>Deliver innovative solutions for flexible and plug-and-play geospatial AI inference workloads on planetary-scale datasets</li><li>Optimize performance and reliability of the backend infrastructure through observability, continuous monitoring, troubleshooting, and improvement</li><li>Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices</li><li>Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in backend technologies, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes</li></ul><h2>Qualifications</h2><ul><li>Strong technical background, including 5+ years of experience in backend software development, with a focus on building scalable, reliable, and easy to operate cloud-deployed services</li><li>Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, and/or Go</li><li>Solid understanding of distributed systems, data structures, and algorithms</li><li>Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud</li><li>Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with a proven track record of working effectively in a hybrid or distributed team environment</li></ul><h2>Compensation and benefits</h2>Wherobots offers competitive compensation, equity, and benefits. The base salary range for this position is $150k-$275k per year.Although we aim to establish a primary engineering presence in the San Francisco Bay Area and in Seattle, we provide flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles.
