The Staff Database Administrator is responsible for project work critical to keeping systems current with the latest technology to ensure a stable environment for users. The scope of this job includes installation, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of our databases to increase performance, security, and high availability.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Recommend availability, performance, maintenance, security, and disaster recovery opportunities of the enterprise and application databases.</li><li>Mentor and lead database engineering teams with their database management system needs, including completing code reviews and finalizing operational readiness.</li><li>Ensure database systems are properly configured for high availability, reliability, and disaster recovery.</li><li>Investigate database technology trends to assess its feasibility and benefits in an enterprise environment.</li><li>Perform complex disaster recovery functions.</li><li>Strategize capacity planning and maintain comprehensive database documentation and configuration of data models.</li><li>Leverage AI tools and platforms as an integral part of daily responsibilities to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows, and drive data-informed outcomes.</li><li>Perform other job duties as assigned.</li></ul>Required Qualifications:   <ul><li>Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent work experience</li><li>At least 12-15 years of related work experience</li></ul>  Preferred Qualifications:      <ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience, preferred majors are Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, Information Systems/Decision Sciences, Mathematics, Sciences, or other STEM related majors.</li><li>At least 5 years’ hands on experience supporting multi-tenant database systems in a high-availability and high-volume environment.</li><li>Experience supporting PostgreSQL systems in cloud or datacenter environments.</li><li>Detailed understanding of PostgreSQL architecture and internals.</li><li>At least 3 years’ experience working in a DevOps/SRE environment.</li><li>Experience with cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, especially working with virtual machines in AWS or GCP.</li><li>Experience with cloud-native database systems such as AWS RDS, GCP CloudSQL, etc.</li><li>Experience and strong understanding of database structures, data modeling, database schema design, database administration, best-practices.</li><li>Experience supporting, monitoring, and configuring Linux environments for database systems.</li><li>Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code systems, preferably Terraform.</li><li>Experience with server automation frameworks such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or SaltStack</li><li>Experience with PgBouncer</li><li>Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Redis, ElasticSearch, or DynamoDB.</li><li>Hands on experience with Microsoft SQL Server</li><li>Experience working in a secure regulated or healthcare software sector with experience designing and maintaining systems for HIPAA, HITRUST, or the NIST Cybersecurity Framework</li></ul>Job Expectations:<ul><li>Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed</li><li>Must work in accordance with applicable security policies and procedures to safeguard company and client information</li><li>Must be able to sit and view a computer screen for extended periods of time</li></ul>#LI-TC1#LI-RemoteWellSky is where independent thinking and collaboration come together to create an authentic culture.
