While you won’t be expected to ship code regularly, you’ll need to contribute meaningfully to technical discussions and design reviews.</li> <li>Embrace a learning mindset. You’re not expected to know everything, but humility and curiosity are essential for success in this role.</li> <li>Lead engineering initiatives across critical areas including AI onboarding, growth experiments, extensibility APIs, marketplace development, and subscription infrastructure.</li> <li>Drive end-to-end execution and delivery of major growth levers such as the AI Site Builder, pricing platform, developer ecosystem, and tools for freelancers and agencies.</li> <li>Collaborate closely with Product to improve monetization, reduce churn, and grow the third-party ecosystem.</li> <li>Own cross-functional platform surfaces like the dashboard, onboarding flows, and internal APIs, ensuring cohesive user and developer experiences.</li> <li>Set architectural direction for new products, including Designer APIs and the billing platform, balancing scalability with product velocity.</li> <li>Foster strong partnerships with product managers and engineering managers, while mentoring and supporting emerging leaders across the organization.</li> <li>Maintain high velocity and execution quality, while investing in the long-term health and stability of our core platform.</li> </ul> <p>In addition to the responsibilities outlined above, at Webflow we will support you in identifying where your interests and development opportunities lie and well help you incorporate them into your role.</p> <h1><strong>About you:</strong></h1> <p>You’ll thrive as a <strong>Director of Engineering, Growth and Extensibility</strong> if you:</p> <ul> <li>Have 7+ years of engineering leadership experience, including managing managers and scaling multi-team orgs in complex product environments.</li> <li>Have 4+ years of hands-on engineering experience building production systems across the stack—APIs, infra, and user-facing features.</li> <li>Have led teams owning key business surfaces like pricing infrastructure, onboarding flows, billing systems, or extensibility.</li> <li>Are comfortable with fullstack web tech: JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Node and can contribute meaningfully to technical discussions.</li> <li>Have experience driving growth outcomes through experimentation, product-led monetization, or retention-focused work.</li> <li>Have built and scaled developer platforms or SDKs, and understand the balance between flexibility and guardrails.</li> <li>Have managed distributed teams and know how to build context, trust, and speed across geographies.
