Our software allows the Waymo Driver to perceive the world around it, make the right decision for every situation, and deliver people safely to their destinations. This role is a limited duration, at-will role to support projects across on the Perception team, expected to take approximately 2 years.</p> <p><strong>You will:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Report into a Perception Engineering Manager</li> <li>Work on an exciting roadmap to deliver new Waymo products</li> <li>Be a core contributor across our ML heavy stack, building tooling and systems to promote new hardware platforms, reliable evaluation, scalable data mining, integrated distributed systems, and guide tooling across the development ecosystem and smoother development experience</li> </ul> <p><strong>You have:</strong></p> <ul> <li>BS in Computer Science, Robotics, a similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience</li> <li>High customer focus and attention to detail</li> <li>Proficiency in C++</li> </ul> <p><strong>We prefer:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Familiarity with Google Infrastructure: Flume, Spanner, Borg, or Guitar</li> <li>2 years professional experience contributing to an ML-centric product</li> <li>Familiarity with ML principles, models and techniques</li> <li>Developed models in a customer-focused environment (e.g., NLP, Speech, or Video).</li> <li>Experience in data analysis at a large-scale</li> <li>Experience working on a multi-component ML system and building measurable signals to improve it</li> </ul> <p>#LI-Hybrid</p><div><div><div><p><span>The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level.
