Our team collaborates on high-impact projects across the company — from driving quality and operational efficiency to market analysis and rider satisfaction scores — we help to safely and efficiently scale the Waymo Driver. We are data-driven, curious, open-minded, and adapt quickly to new information.</p> <p><em>In this hybrid role, you will be reporting to a Product Data Scientist Lead.</em></p> <p><strong>You will:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Partner with Data Science, Engineering, Product and Operations teams to develop the fleet scheduling and orchestration models for Waymo</li> <li>Build sophisticated Optimization models to decide when to launch and recharge vehicles, match vehicles to depots, and control traffic within the depots</li> <li>Build Machine Learning models to predict the future state of the fleet</li> <li>Use Statistics and Data Analytics to determine the performance of the model</li> <li>Present on a regular basis to Waymo leadership</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>You have:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience with Optimization modeling and implementation using solver packages (e.g. CP-SAT, CPLEX, Gurobi, etc.)</li> <li>Coding skills (Advanced Python and SQL)</li> <li>Statistics and Machine Learning knowledge</li> <li>Ability to structure and solve ambiguous problems</li> <li>Demonstrated experience communicating and collaborating with different stakeholders and senior leadership</li> <li>At least 4+ years of relevant experience</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>We prefer:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience with experimentation</li> <li>Experience at another Ride hailing or Marketplace company</li> <li>Experience with fleet management systems</li> <li>Experience with autonomous traffic management systems</li> </ul><div><div><div><p><span>The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level.
