Partnering with Product, Experience Design, Analytics, and business leaders across Wayfair, our Native App Engineering teams contribute to an award-winning mobile experience that makes shopping for your home delightful and engaging. iOS and Android engineers leverage the full capabilities of mobile devices and their SDKs. For example, our apps take advantage of augmented reality, computer vision-assisted product search using the device’s camera, and machine learning to create personalized experiences and improve the speed of the app.

This team’s charter is to facilitate continuous engagement and retention during our customers shopping and home project lifecycle by creating new value propositions for the Wayfair App Experience designed to serve the needs of early lifecycle and low-purchase intent users. The ideal candidate has experience in native iOS development, and a proven track record of delivering high quality features efficiently. This person will leverage their breadth of knowledge to deliver features for Wayfair shoppers to make their shopping experience frictionless and delightful.

What Youll Do

Participate in the development of Wayfair’s iOS app with features surrounding upper-funnel functionality such as homepage, sales, inspirational landing experiences, including architecting and developing new features, application maintenance and refactoring, and increased performance and automation.
Review code and provide guidance for other developers participating in our release approval process.
Being passionate about test coverage and quality engineering are paramount.
Use data and metrics to collaboratively drive impactful changes.
Frequently interface and interact with quality, UX, back-end/API, product, analytics, and other teams.
Lead by example; share knowledge, experience, and best practices.

What Youll Bring

BS in Computer Science or related technical field (e.g., physics or mathematics), or equivalent technical experience
A passion for writing clean, readable, and thoroughly tested code, and an eagerness to share your expertise with others.
A strong understanding of computer programming fundamentals, interacting with endpoints, debugging, and memory management.
An understanding of design patterns as well as architecture patterns.
A drive to learn about new libraries and technologies, stay on the cutting edge of the evolving mobile landscape and an eagerness to create experiences that will delight users.
Experience with the following is nice to have:

Knowledge of Human Interface Guidelines, iOS UI/UX development, and best practices
SwiftUI, Combine, and GraphQL
Ruby or similar scripting languages
Working on other platforms such as with Android and/or Full-Stack

Wayfairs In-Office Policy:

All Boston-based interns, co-ops, and corporate employees will be in office in a hybrid capacity. Employees will work in the office on designated days, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and work remotely the other 2 days of the week.
