We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Personalization team under Commerce Platforms organization. You will be in the unique position to bring a broader impact to the Walmarts customers and associates by building features and solutions that power the ML model inferencing and governance at scale, contributing to highly engaging customer experiences for Walmart customers across channels. About Team: Our team works closely with our US stores and eCommerce business to better serve customers by empowering team members, stores, and merchants with technological innovation. What youll do: <ul><li>Build data-driven platforms and capabilities to power Personalization experiences across site, app, stores, voice commerce.</li><li>Design and develop applications and workflows to process and manage petabyte scales of data to build ML feature.</li><li>Collaborating with Science and Engineering teams to deliver end-to-end scalable solutions for cross-functional projects.</li><li>Work closely with business and product stakeholders to define strategy, vision, and roadmap for top initiatives in Personalization and Recommendations.</li><li>Actively contribute to the research community through participation at conferences, seminars, and workshops.</li></ul> What youll bring: <ul><li>You have experience in architecting and designing large-scale distributed systems that process large volumes of data focusing on scalability, latency, and fault-tolerance.</li><li>You have advanced knowledge of complex software design, distributed system design, design patterns and application building experience using Java or Scala.</li><li>You have experience in building and scaling systems that orchestrate and execute complex workflows in big data leveraging Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, and Hadoop stack preferably in Google Cloud Platform.</li><li>You have experience in designing ML features and models from structured and unstructured data.</li><li>You have experience in building datasets, tools, and services supporting big data and analytics operations.</li><li>You have experience in evaluating and fine-tuning systems for speed, robustness, and cost efficiency.</li><li>You have experience in relational SQL and NoSQL databases like Cassandra, AzureSQL, Cosmos.</li><li>You are familiar with CI/CD and release management processes used in software engineering field.</li><li>You have strong written and oral communication skills.</li></ul> About Walmart Global Tech Imagine working in an environment where one line of code can make life easier for hundreds of millions of people.
