This role will work closely with a cross-functional team including Operations, Community Relations, Technology, and Marketing to shape how Walmart.org leverages our local presence to build stronger communities and deepen our relationship with customers.
About the Position…
The Director, Customer & Associate Engagement, will oversee Walmart.org’s local giving programs working closely with three Senior Managers who lead facility giving (store, club, DC/FC giving), volunteerism, associate giving, and cause marketing campaigns. In addition, this role will be a core member of the broader community team that supports associates through the Associates in Critical Need Trust (ACNT) and helping to design the future approach for the Spark Good platform. Spark Good’s vision is to engage customers and associates through an omnichannel platform to support their community, starting with charitable activities.

What youll do...
- Implementing operational excellence and strong governance and compliance across programs and practices to deliver impactful local giving programs.
- Leveraging data analysis, user feedback, and innovation to innovate and maximize impact across corporate giving and associate engagement programs
- Working with internal stakeholders to deliver a high-quality experience across various end-users (nonprofits and associates).
- Partnering with associates, nonprofits, and community-based organizations to understand their needs.
- Serving as an ambassador and champion of Walmart.org, driving excitement and commitment across the business.
- Understanding trends and expectations for philanthropy, with an emphasis on how new power can accelerate social impact and drive equity.
- Working with internal stakeholders to build authentic solutions that leverage Walmart’s unique capabilities.
- Developing approaches to scaling adoption of tools and activations.
- Representing Walmart.org on working externally and industry events.
- Building capacity of internal and external stakeholders.
- Contributing to development of the overall Spark Good strategy; and
- Championing internal culture around doing good as part of our everyday work.
What you’ll bring…
- You have experience working in a highly matrixed environment, are self-directed, and can create strategic frameworks all while working in complex situations.
- You have experience influencing cross-functional business teams through communication, partnership, and consultation, including defining objectives, key principals, issues to resolve and accountabilities.
- You have experience conducting complex analyses to inform strategy and track results.
- You have experience in corporate philanthropy or deep nonprofit experience, especially in local giving or equity and belonging programs.
- You have created learning modules, playbooks, or toolkits to maximize impact of programs or campaigns.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sams Club facilities. Programs range from high school completion to bachelors degrees, including English Language Learning and short-form certificates. Tuition, books, and fees are completely paid for by Walmart.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
