This is the platform which we use as the foundation for our Waabi Driver that uses novel generative AI algorithms to develop and scale an autonomous trucking solution very quickly. Ensuring that this platform is safe for supervised autonomy and driverless autonomy operations requires systems engineering practices like tracing product requirements to system requirements to tests and eventually test executions in order to build a very strong safety case. In this role you will work within the Platform Systems Engineering team and cross functionally with Hardware, Software and Operations at Waabi to define and realize verification methods by developing and executing tests.</div><div><br /></div><div><b>A strong focus will be on: </b></div><div>- Creating verification plans based on requirements</div><div>- Developing and documenting tests</div><div>- Executing tests with support from other test engineers</div><div>- Developing fault injection tools and techniques</div><div><br /></div><div><b>You will…</b></div><div>- Own the creation, documentation, alignment and verification of autonomous platform requirements at Waabi and define ways for how to describe and evaluate them efficiently and effectively</div><div>- Act as a central point of contact at Waabi for specific platform-related verification methods and tests and communicate updates, progress and potential roadblocks to stakeholders at all levels</div><div>- Define necessary improvements for our highly realistic simulator to effectively verify most autonomous platform aspects under all required conditions and work with other teams at Waabi to get these improvements designed and implemented; this includes HIL/SIL verification methods</div><div>- Own the writing and tracking of tests and test executions in line with company project milestones</div><div>- Implement tools and methodologies to streamline and automate the Waabi platform verification processes where applicable</div><div>- Work with external partners on delivering a safe autonomous platform that has been verified and validated to support a strong safety case for the complete self-driving system</div><div><br /></div><div><b>Expectations:</b></div><div>- In-vehicle testing, to be conducted with the assistance of a vehicle operator</div><div>- Travel to AZ for physical vehicle testing is expected for approximately 25% of the time </div><div><br /></div><div><b>Qualifications:</b></div><div>- Undergrad required; Masters or PhD within an engineering discipline preferred</div><div>- 3+ years of automotive, robotics, aerospace or related industry experience</div><div>- Experience with requirements-specifications and metrics</div><div>- Knowledge of the typical autonomous vehicle stack</div><div>- Systems engineering and verification and validation experience</div><div>- Experience with executing complex vehicle test campaigns</div><div>- Experience with functional safety, i.e. ISO 26262</div><div>- Strong fundamentals in mathematics, engineering and physics and basic understanding of vehicle dynamics</div><div>- Excellent data analysis skills with modern tools such as Python or Matlab</div><div>- Passionate about self-driving technologies, solving hard problems, and creating innovative solutions</div><div>- Experience with vehicle actuation (brakes, steering, propulsion)</div><div>- Bring an in-depth understanding of sensors, compute and actuators used in the self-driving vehicle scope</div><div><br /></div><div><b>Bonus/nice to have:</b></div><div>- Having a good understanding of how trucks work and are operated will also be helpful to be successful in this role</div><div>- Experience in launching a driverless product</div><div>- Experience in the automotive self driving industry</div><div>- Experience building software systems from scratch</div><div>- Experience in robotics or machine learning</div><div>- Proficiency with data mining, mathematics, and statistical analysis</div><div><br /></div><div><span>The US yearly salary range for this role is: $130,000 - $190,000 USD in addition to competitive perks &amp; benefits. Waabi (US) Inc.’s yearly salary ranges are determined based on several factors in accordance with the Company’s compensation practices.
