You’ll drive design and implementation of scalable, reliable, and secure network services including VPC, edge connectivity, and security features. This is a cross-functional, hands-on role building the networking foundation of Vultrs infrastructure.   <h4>What You’ll Do</h4> <ul> <li>Work on technical design for next-gen cloud networking: VPC, security groups, gateways, routing domains</li> <li>Drive implementation of control/data plane features and network orchestration</li> <li>Manage services like BGP peering, tenant isolation, and network policy enforcement</li> <li>Prototype and validate new capabilities at scale</li> <li>Support production systems and incident response</li> <li>Extend Vultr’s control plane to integrate networking features </li> </ul> <h3>What we’re looking for: </h3> <ul> <li>5+ years in infrastructure, network engineering, or hosting environments</li> <li>Experience with virtual networking (public/private cloud), SDN, VXLAN/EVPN</li> <li>Strong knowledge of BGP, L2/L3 routing, Linux and Kubernetes networking</li> <li>Network automation and observability experience</li> <li>Proficiency in Go or Rust; familiarity with PHP and SQL a plus</li> <li>Clear communication across engineering and leadership </li> </ul> <h4>Bonus Experience:</h4> <ul> <li>High-performance networking hardware (Broadcom DNX, XGS, DPUs, SmartNICs, etc.)</li> <li>Legacy system modernization</li> <li>Network security or multi-tenant firewall experience</li> <li>Cloud provider or hyperscaler background</li> </ul>   Compensation $128,000 - $145,000 This salary can vary based on location, years of experience, background and skill set.  <div>Vultr is committed to an inclusive workforce where diversity is celebrated and supported.
