This is a </span><b>senior-level, individual contributor role</b><span> to begin with — ideal for someone with a commanding grasp of production logistics, excellent taste, deep creative intuition, and an extensive network of trusted external creative studios/creators.</span></div><div><br /></div><div><span>You will serve as the </span><b>central orchestrator</b><span> for all content (2D and 3D assets) production efforts — taking in requests from across the company (Product, Marketing, Community, Trust &amp; Safety, etc.), mapping the best path to execution, and ensuring delivery aligns with our high bar for quality, brand consistency, and strategic goals.</span></div><div><br /></div><div><span>Although you won’t have direct reports to begin with — you’ll be the conductor and have an annual budget to work with. You’ll work independently while coordinating laterally across internal stakeholders and external production partners. Your judgment, creative taste, and ability to manage complexity are your superpowers.</span></div><div><br /></div><div><span>The </span><b>top 3 priorities</b><span> during your first year at VRChat will be (in the following order) -</span></div><div><br /></div><div><span>1. Spin up </span><b>pilots</b><span> on a diverse range of </span><b>premium marketplace content categories (3D) </b><span>through a mix of in-house production, external vendors and community creators.</span></div><div><br /></div><div><span>2. ROI analysis of different premium content categories and sources of content to clearly identify </span><b>profitable vs unprofitable investments</b><span> - to re-deploy budget and/or unlock additional budget.</span></div><div><br /></div><div><span>3. Support prioritization and focus for in-house production to achieve maximum “wow factor” and business impact.</span></div><div><br /></div><div><span>This position will report into the CPO at VRChat and work closely with our product leaders, marketing &amp; community team, external studios, IP partners, our VP of legal &amp; ops, our art director + head of in-house production, heads of various functions, and periodically interact with the exec team.</span></div><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Intake and assess content needs across diverse teams (product, marketing, community, marketplace, etc.).</li><li>Define the optimal production path — in-house vs. external — based on timelines, goals, and capacity.</li><li>Build creative briefs, scopes of work, and delivery plans that set projects up for success.</li><li>Maintain and expand a trusted network of external production studios, contractors, and agencies.</li><li>Source and negotiate engagements with the right-fit creators for each project.</li><li>Oversee external delivery to ensure alignment with VRChat’s brand aesthetic, and goals.</li><li>Manage all phases of production including budgeting, scheduling, reviews, approvals, delivery and archiving. Oversee milestone tracking, asset reviews, feedback loops, and version control.</li><li>Promote best practices in asset pipeline management, task tracking, and documentation.</li><li>Navigate complex arrangements, including those involving third-party IP or brand co-marketing.</li><li>Ensure clear documentation and operational visibility for all active projects.</li><li>Act as the connective tissue between internal teams and content producers.</li><li>Translate business needs into actionable creative direction.</li><li>Establish strong feedback loops to ensure iterative alignment throughout production.</li><li>Provide direct feedback on content drafts to keep quality and brand voice sharp.</li><li>Maintain a high aesthetic bar and ensure all outputs reflect the VRChat experience authentically.</li><li>Uphold and evolve VRChat’s creative standards through consistency and craft.</li></ul><h3>Experience, Skills and Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Have <b>7+ years</b> of experience in content production, with a preference for gaming/interactive content (including both 2D and 3D asset development), and an emphasis on premium marketplace content.</li><li>Have a proven track record of managing cross-functional projects from brief to final delivery.</li><li>Demonstrates <b>exceptional expertise in stakeholder and cross-functional communication and collaboration</b>, possessing outstanding interpersonal skills and a proven ability to navigate and reconcile diverse and often conflicting needs effectively.</li><li>Bring an established <b>network of studios and content producers</b> across formats and budgets.</li><li>Can <b>operate independently</b>, but are deeply collaborative in style and instinct.</li><li>Have <b>excellent taste and judgment</b>, with a <b>portfolio of high-quality content</b> to show for it.</li><li>Are comfortable with <b>complex content arrangements</b>, such as working with IP licensors, legal clearances, or branded integrations.</li><li>Understand internet-native culture and speak fluent creator.</li><li>Know or are excited to learn about the <b>VRChat community and ecosystem</b>.</li><div><b>Note: Content Portfolio Required</b></div></ul><h3>Bonus Points</h3><ul><li>Background in gaming, interactive media, or UGC platforms.</li><li>Experience with VR, 3D animation pipelines, or machinima-style workflows.</li><li>Familiarity with community-led or creator-centered brand story-telling.</li><li>Familiarity working with UGC community creators.</li></ul><h3>Benefits Points</h3><ul><li>Work from anywhere!
