If you’re a holistic problem solver who’s excited to grow, learn, and contribute, we’d love to hear from you.</div><h3>Areas we work in:</h3><ul><li>Intuitive internal APIs and data intensive products to form the building blocks of our demand response platform</li><li>Public-facing API (<a href="https://api.voltus.co">https://api.voltus.co</a>) and developer documentation</li><li>Unified platform for collecting and processing customer documents and utility data</li><li>Providing accurate, timely, and effective notifications for grid emergency events to coordinate customer and internal response</li><li>Internal tools (e.g. analytics, scripting environments) to provide pragmatic solutions for technically proficient internal users</li></ul><h3>Responsibilities for this role:</h3><ul><li>Design and implement modular, composable primitives and APIs to capture core business logic for operating a growing portfolio of diverse energy resources</li><li>Understand energy industry rules, regulations, and standards to effectively design software that meets our needs. We are domain experts in our business in ways that exceed the expectations of individual engineering contributors at a normal tech startup.</li><li>Work closely with internal experts in energy markets to translate complicated market dynamics into discoverable, extensible, well-documented production code.</li><li>Contribute to the engineering roadmap, vision, and goals.</li><li>Establish clear and specific success criteria with key stakeholders.</li><li>Lead major initiatives on a wide range of work that includes new customer-facing products, complex automations for internal stakeholders, and data infrastructure scaling.</li><li>Provide mentorship and coaching to more junior team members.</li></ul><h3>Requirements:</h3><ul><li>8+ years of software engineering industry experience.</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>Experience with designing durable data models and managing them at scale.</li><li>Experience with cloud native application design and development using APIs, containers, and infrastructure-as-code.</li><li>A strong background in system architecture.</li><li>Experience translating complex business domains into maintainable, scalable systems.</li><li>A passion for well-tested, readable, maintainable code.</li></ul><div>Please note that at this time, <b>we do not sponsor visas or transfers for new hires</b>.
