This role is pivotal in steering Vodafone’s transformation into a software-centric organisation, with over half of its technology workforce expected to be in Software Engineering by 2025. The successful candidate will lead a team of 7+ direct reports, influence cross-functional teams across European markets, and define long-term roadmaps and testing strategies. They will be responsible for delivering enterprise-grade software solutions, ensuring cost-efficiency, and maintaining alignment with Vodafone’s Software Engineering and Architectural Guilds.</p></div></div><div><div><h2><b>What you’ll do</b></h2></div><div><ul><li>Design and implement cloud-native, serverless, and containerised digital applications aligned with industry best practices.</li><li>Strategically lead and automate the Software Development Lifecycle, embedding end-to-end test coverage by design.</li><li>Deliver highly scalable, fault-tolerant, and secure enterprise-wide applications.</li><li>Evaluate and recommend cutting-edge technology solutions to meet evolving business needs.</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Digital Engineering, Product Management, Big Data, and Solution Architects to build and test robust software solutions.</li></ul></div></div><div><div><h2><b>Who you are</b></h2></div><div><ul><li>A seasoned technical leader with 5+ years in senior software development roles and 7+ years delivering enterprise-grade software.</li><li>Expert in cloud-native deployments (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerisation (Kubernetes, Docker Swarm).</li><li>Proficient in multiple programming languages including Java, Python, NodeJS, and experienced with both SQL and NoSQL databases.</li><li>Skilled in automation testing tools such as Jenkins, Selenium, Cucumber, and Cypress.</li><li>Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing SDLC processes and Big Data software solutions.</li><li>Holds a Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.</li><li>Strong stakeholder management and strategic decision-making capabilities.</li></ul></div></div><div><div><h2><b>Not a perfect fit?</b></h2></div><div><p>Concerned you may not meet every requirement?
