This remote, part-time role (20 hours/week) reports to the Sr. Manager, People Operations and plays a critical role in ensuring compliance, data accuracy, and positive employee experience. We are proud to offer part-time status benefits, including paid time off, company wellness days and holidays, and wellbeing programs. <h2>What You’ll Do:</h2> Payroll Management, Tax Registration, &amp; Compliance (Primary Focus) <ul> <li>Process full cycle semi-monthly, multi-state U.S. payroll with a high degree of accuracy, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (including sensitive and off cycle payroll and timesheet validation). </li> <li>Conduct pre- and post-processing audits (including timesheets, registers, adjustments, leave plans, 401K funding, deductions/earnings amounts and codes, etc)  to ensure strong data integrity.</li> <li>Closely partner with our payroll provider and state agencies on payroll tax registrations, TPA/POA set up matters, filings, notice resolution, wage reporting, and compliance matters.</li> <li>Manage garnishments, liens, and child support deductions, communicating updates with employees as needed.</li> </ul> Benefits &amp; Employee Support (Secondary Focus) <ul> <li>Support administration of health, disability, retirement (401k), and wellness programs.</li> <li>Assist with new hire benefits orientation, open enrollment, and compliance reporting (including 1094/1095-C, nondiscrimination testing, etc).</li> <li>Partner with brokers and vendors to resolve billing and reconciliation issues.</li> <li>Provide employees with timely, clear responses to payroll and benefits-related questions.</li> </ul> <h2>What We’re Looking For:</h2> <ul> <li>3+ years of payroll administration experience (multi-state strongly preferred); benefits administration exposure is a plus.</li> <li>Familiarity with Paylocity  and HiBob or similar HRIS systems.</li> <li>Strong knowledge of U.S. payroll compliance requirements (i.e state pay laws, FLSA, FMLA, COBRA, ERISA).</li> <li>Strong Excel skills and comfort with Google Workspace and AI tools.</li> <li>You treat AI as a core part of your workflow, using tools like ChatGPT to enhance productivity and output.</li> <li>High degree of attention to detail, organizational skills, and a customer-service mindset.</li> <li>Ability to work independently while collaborating across People Team, Finance, and external partners.</li> <li>Ability to identify and respond to shifting priorities while meeting deadlines.</li> <li>Stay up-to-date with federal, state, and local payroll and benefits laws and regulations.</li> </ul> <h2>Why Join Us:</h2> <ul> <li>Flexibility: 20 hours per week, with core hours aligned to payroll deadlines and flexibility outside of those times.</li> <li>Impact: You’ll be the go-to expert ensuring our employees are paid accurately and supported during the employee life cycle. </li> <li>Growth: Opportunities to expand into benefits administration and HR systems as your interests and our business needs evolve.</li> </ul> Part-Time Benefits: Paid Time Off, company wellness day, and holidays, wellbeing benefits, learning development stipend, tech allowances are available to part-time employees.   Viz.ai is an Equal Opportunity Employer and considers applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, orientation, national origin, age, disability, genetics, or any other basis forbidden under federal, state, or local law.
