Join us today and experience Life at Visa.</p><h3>Job Description</h3><p>Visa Technology &amp; Operations LLC, a Visa Inc. company, needs a Staff Systems Engineer (multiple openings) in Ashburn, VA to:</p><ul><li>Collaborate with Cloud Architects and fellow engineers to actively contribute to our public cloud strategy and standards.</li><li>Design and implement agile, innovative cloud infrastructure and management solutions that harness technology advancements for cost reduction, standardization, and commoditization.</li><li>Adopt a cloud-native approach for the development of greenfield solutions, considering business goals, objectives, and requirements, while ensuring the integration with legacy solutions.</li><li>Identify and utilize standard toolsets to lessen complexity and further operational goals for extensive automation across the enterprise.</li><li>Work with the team to mature the cloud ecosystem, establish standards, and integrate infrastructure management domains - including logging, monitoring, configuration management, and orchestration.</li><li>Promote continuous, iterative enhancements in our processes, technology, tools, and automation to achieve objectives.</li><li>Incorporate security measures into all project stages - design, implementation, and operations.</li><li>Define, document, and maintain standard designs and processes, ensuring documentation is updated with each modification or change.</li><li>Provide knowledge transfer to peers and operations team on architecture, design, and delivery of public cloud solutions.</li><li>Facilitate knowledge transfer to peers and the operations team on public cloud solution architecture, design, and delivery.</li><li>Mentor junior team members to enhance team competencies and skills.</li><li>Position reports to the Ashburn, VA office and may allow for partial telecommuting.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><p>Basic Qualifications:</p><ul><li>Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field, followed by 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or in a Systems Engineer-related occupation.</li><li>Alternative, Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field and 2 years of experience in a Systems Engineer-related occupation.</li><li>Position requires experience in the following skills:<ul><li>AWS/GCP/Azure services such as networking, compute, and database.</li><li>Designing, building, and running production systems in cloud or migrating to the cloud, practicing infrastructure as code, automated testing, autoscaling, and self-healing.</li><li>Infrastructure as code with tools including Terraform, Pulumi, and configuration management tools including Ansible.</li><li>Managing production container ecosystems, including Docker, Kubernetes, Service Mesh (Istio or Linkerd), and CNI (Calico or Cilium).</li><li>Cloud-native monitoring and APM tools, including AWS Cloudwatch, GCP Cloud Operations Suites, and Azure Monitor.</li><li>Using and optimizing monitoring and observability systems and experience in Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemeter standards.</li><li>Understanding of the Software Development Process, including Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipeline tools Jenkins and GitLab.</li><li>Container deployments in Kubernetes environments using ArgoCD or Flux.</li><li>Security tools and standard methodologies, including CIS Benchmarking, OS hardening, vulnerability scanning, and system auditing.</li></ul></li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><p><strong><u>Worksite:</u></strong><strong> </strong>Ashburn, VA</p><p>This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office.
