Join us on our mission to reverse diabetes and obesity in one billion people.<h1>Responsibilities</h1><ul><li>Lead the preparation, review, and submission of all SEC filings, including 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, proxy statements, and other required disclosures, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.</li><li>Maintain internal controls over financial reporting</li><li>Oversee and maintain financial reporting and certification compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX requirements.</li><li>Drive continuous improvement of the external reporting process and leverage automation and AI tools to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.</li><li>Partner cross-functionally with Legal, Strategic Finance, Information Security and Operations teams to ensure alignment on disclosures and filing timelines.</li><li>Manage and develop a small team by providing direction, coaching, and feedback, while fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.</li><li>Coordinate with external auditors and ensure review and sign off on financial statements and SEC filings.</li><li>Develop and maintain accounting policies related to financial reporting and ensure proper implementation across the organization.</li><li>Evaluate complex transactions and lead technical accounting research and documentation.</li><li>Support special projects, including AI-driven financial reporting innovations, internal controls enhancements, and ESG disclosures.</li><li>Assist the Accounting team as needed with ad hoc tasks and projects</li></ul><h1>90 Day Plan</h1>Within your first 90 days at Virta, we expect you will do the following:<ul><li>Assume full responsibility the financial statement preparation process</li><li>Assess and improve current reporting processes, identifying opportunities to integrate artificial intelligence and automation for greater efficiency and compliance.</li><li>Build trusted partnerships with internal stakeholders and external advisors. </li><li>Establish a roadmap for scalable reporting solutions as the company grows. </li></ul><h1>Must-Haves</h1><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA required.</li><li>10+ years of progressive experience in public accounting and industry, with a strong emphasis on SEC reporting.</li><li>In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC rules and regulations, and SOX reporting requirements.</li><li>Prior experience in a high-growth, public company environment.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage large-scale reporting projects.</li><li>Experience implementing or using automation/AI tools to enhance financial reporting processes.</li><li>Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.</li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset.</li><li>Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with ERP and reporting systems (e.g., NetSuite, Workiva, etc.).</li><li>Comfortable working in a fully remote setting.</li></ul><h1>Values-driven culture</h1>Virta’s company values drive our culture, so you’ll do well if:<ul><li>You put people first and take care of yourself, your peers, and our patients equally</li><li>You have a strong sense of ownership and take initiative while empowering others to do the same</li><li>You prioritize positive impact over busy work</li><li>You have no ego and understand that everyone has something to bring to the table regardless of experience</li><li>You appreciate transparency and promote trust and empowerment through open access of information</li><li>You are evidence-based and prioritize data and science over seniority or dogma</li><li>You take risks and rapidly iterate</li></ul>Is this role not quite what youre looking for? <a target="_blank" href="https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/virtahealth/form/talent-community-form">Join our Talent Community</a> and <a target="_blank" href="https://www.linkedin.com/company/virta-health">follow us on Linkedin</a> to stay connected!Virta has a location based compensation structure. Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications &amp; experience. For this role, the compensation range is $175,088 - $200,100.
