<div><b>WHAT YOU’LL DO</b></div><div><br /></div><div>Viant’s customers use the Demand Side Platform (DSP)to set up, run and monitor ad campaigns. The platform team owns a complex set of backend services and the frontend UI that makes up the DSP. These services are deployed in a distributed, multi-region, cloud-based infrastructure and use the latest technologies to handle the immensely complicated functionality that is part of any Demand Side Platform (DSP) such as Viant DSP. </div><div><br /></div><div>As a senior engineer on the Platform team, you will work on building software that solves complex problems while considering long-term strategy and direction. You will deliver simple, elegant, scalable, extensible solutions that strike the right balance between short-term and long-term considerations. You will design, develop, maintain and trouble software features with an eye on cost, scalability, performance and fault-tolerance. You will participate in design discussions, code reviews and bug triage / Root Cause Analysis (RCA) sessions.</div><div><br /></div><div>Primarily supporting Viant’s DSP, you will collaborate with Product, other Engineering and Technical operations teams on the entire lifecycle from ideation to productization and beyond.</div><h3>THE DAY-TO-DAY</h3><ul><li>Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to develop and deliver end-to-end features across the stack — from responsive UIs in Angular/React to scalable backend services in Java and Go.</li><li>Build and maintain APIs and backend microservices deployed in cloud environments (AWS and GCP), ensuring reliability, performance, and security.</li><li>Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following best practices in modern software development, including automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.</li><li>Write optimized SQL queries to support application functionality, reporting, ETL and analytics needs.</li><li>Participate in regular code reviews, design discussions, and agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives).</li><li>Collaborate closely with DevOps/Cloud Engineering to ensure smooth deployments, infrastructure as code, and high system availability.</li><li>Proactively identify areas of improvement in the codebase and contribute to technical roadmaps and refactoring initiatives.</li></ul><h3>QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS</h3><ul><li>Minimum B.S in computer science, mathematics, or related field.</li><li>5+ years of professional experience in the software industry</li><li>Experience with OOP related languages like Java or Golang</li><li>Experience with client-side technologies / frameworks like HTML, JavaScript, AJAX, jQuery, Angular, React, etc.</li><li>Experience with web services or RESTful services or micro-services.</li><li>Experience with databases like MySQL or SQL Server or Oracle or Postgres.</li><li>Exposure or understanding of cloud-based, container-based, NoSQL, caching, queuing/pub-sub technologies preferred</li></ul><h3>LIFE AT VIANT</h3><ul><li>Investing in our employee’s professional growth is important to us, but so is investing in their well-being.
