Our interns deliver innovative solutions to real business challenges, while building enduring relationships in a collaborative culture with their manager and an assigned mentor.This position is based in either San Antonio, TX or Plano, TX.What youll do:Our Bank Credit Risk Interns work under direct supervision, following risk and compliance procedures and mentorship, to deliver an analyst-level project addressing actual business needs, including the following tasks:<ul><li>Completes analytical processes to assess risks and opportunities across the Bank’s consumer portfolios.</li><li>Presents project findings to senior bank leaders</li><li>Supports team members to review and challenge bank risk strategy by effectively providing analytical insights to peers and management.</li><li>Begins conducting quantitative analysis applying extensive internal and external data sources.</li><li>Performs qualitative analysis to support the team in departmental decision making.</li><li>Research credit, product, and/or risk proposals and applies critical thinking skills to provide feedback in support of strong portfolio performance outcomes.</li><li>Learns to maintain effective risk management frameworks which can identify, measure, or mitigate risk.</li><li>Develops, maintains, and uses established reporting to supervise and call out bank risks.</li><li>May implement financial risk sensitivity analysis, credit and/or financial modeling infrastructure.</li><li>Performs routine tasks and within established procedures and guidelines.</li></ul>What you need to have:To qualify, you must be pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university, and plan to graduate after the final day of the internship. Most of our interns participate the summer between their junior and senior years. Our 2026 internship will start on May 27, 2026 and last through August 7, 2026. <ul><li>Graduation date cannot be prior to August 7, 2026</li></ul>What sets you apart:<ul><li>Prior experience with tools used in quantitative analysis, such as Python, R, SAS, Tableau</li><li>Graduation date between August 2026 and July 2028</li></ul>Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $24 - $27. Interns will receive an intern stipend to assist with expenses.USAA does not provide visa sponsorship for this role.
