The Media team is renewing our stack for extensibility and cross-platform parity while sustaining the reliability customers expect. What youll be doing <ul> <li>Own and maintain a complex media tech stack across Unity-supported platforms.</li> <li>Design and build hardware abstraction layers and cross-platform media APIs.</li> <li>Refactor and modernize existing code; integrate and evaluate third-party frameworks.</li> <li>Collaborate with Unity customers and internal authoring/runtime teams to turn needs into platform capabilities.</li> </ul> What were looking for <ul> <li>Drive delivery of cross-platform media systems; own architecture decisions and customer impact.</li> <li>Expert in C++ (memory, threading, real-time, perf profiling).</li> <li>Deep media domain skills (eg. containers/codecs, streaming, sync) and major platform media SDKs (mobile, desktop, consoles).</li> <li>Design extensible, testable, maintainable systems; reduce tech debt.</li> <li>Produce strategy docs/technical design docs; set/enforce non-functional requirements; align partner teams to ship.</li> </ul> You might also have <ul> <li>C# interoperability</li> <li>Shipped media pipelines in Unity or comparable real-time engines at scale, with measurable improvements to latency, stability, and parity.</li> <li>Led adoption or integration of open-source media frameworks (GStreamer, FFmpeg).</li> <li>Expertise in GPU-accelerated media.</li> <li>Advanced audio experience: spatial audio, DSP chains, low-latency IO, resampling, and A/V sync across diverse platforms.</li> <li>Experience representing your organization with platform vendors or industry groups; negotiating SDK constraints and co-designing solutions.</li> </ul> Additional information <ul> <li>Relocation support is not available for this position</li> <li>Work visa/immigration sponsorship is not available for this position</li> </ul> Life at Unity We offer a wide range of benefits designed to support employees well-being and work-life balance.
