Unlike managers who focus on strategy, Team Leads provide real-time coaching, set the tone for culture, and ensure the team executes effectively. This balance of leadership, mentorship, and operational oversight makes the role both dynamic and critical to success.</p> <h3>About the role</h3> <ul> <li>Lead and develop a small, dynamic team of Fraud Associates dedicated to investigating suspicious activity and protecting Underdog’s platform and players from fraud.</li> <li>Use a blend of internal and third-party tools, reports, and analytics to detect fraud trends, and help create industry-leading experiences while maintaining security.</li> <li>Work closely with the FraudOps Manager to set and achieve performance goals and KPIs that drive team success.</li> <li>Partner with various internal teams (Product, Engineering, Compliance, Responsible Gaming) to implement fraud prevention strategies and improvements.</li> <li>Oversee team performance, provide mentorship, feedback, and regular check-ins to ensure individual and team growth.</li> <li>Play a critical role in building new fraud detection and prevention methods, ensuring compliance with regulations like KYC and Anti-Money Laundering.</li> </ul> <h3>Who you are</h3> <ul> <li>3+ years of relevant experience in a Fraud or Risk Operations role</li> <li>At least one year of experience guiding a team of employees.</li> <li>Highly analytical, able to detect fraud trends and understand data to recommend actionable improvements.</li> <li>Possess strong critical thinking and investigative skills, always looking for new ways to improve fraud detection processes.</li> <li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills, allowing you to effectively communicate across departments and with external stakeholders.</li> </ul> <h3>Even better if you have</h3> <ul> <li>Experience working within the online sports betting or gaming industry, with a strong understanding of its regulatory environment</li> <li>Knowledge of fraud detection tools, systems, and platforms.</li> <li>Familiarity with performance management tools and techniques to monitor and improve team productivity.</li> <li>A passion for both customer experience and operational efficiency, with the ability to balance both in fraud prevention strategies.</li> <li>Proven success in collaborating cross-functionally, working with teams like Product, Engineering, and Compliance to create a safer user experience.<br /><br /></li> </ul> <p><em>Our target starting base salary range for this position is between $90,000 and $95,000, plus target equity.
