Join us as we reinvent the standard of care in metabolic health.</div>Opportunity We are looking for an AI Applications Engineer to join our team and help shape the next generation of deeper activity experiences. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of backend engineering and AI, collaborating closely with backend, mobile, and AI engineers, as well as clinical teams, to build innovative solutions. Your work will empower members with personalized experiences that enhance engagement and support overall metabolic well-being. Responsibilities  <ul> <li>Contribute to the design, development, and deployment of AI agents and tools that streamline clinical decision-making and enhance clinical workflows.</li> <li>Explore and implement full-stack architecture for AI-agentic systems, from context engineering to API design and deployment.</li> <li>Develop and maintain robust, scalable backend services and integrations (using Python, Java Spring Boot, SQL) that serve as the foundation for our AI applications.</li> <li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to help translate clinical and operational needs into technical specifications and prototypes.</li> <li>Follow best practices for developing reliable, secure, and scalable AI applications, ensuring all solutions meet compliance standards such as HIPAA.</li> <li>Monitor and optimize the performance of AI systems in production to handle growth and ensure a seamless user experience.</li> <li>Take on additional responsibilities as needed, including on-call rotations.</li> <li>Regular travel to our Mountain View headquarters for planning workshops and team collaboration sessions.</li> <li>Other duties as assigned</li> </ul> Qualifications  <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a STEM-related field.</li> <li>2+ years of software engineering experience, with a foundation in building backend services.</li> <li>Demonstrated experience (professional or personal projects) in developing AI-powered applications using Large Language Models (LLMs) like GPT, Claude, or Gemini.</li> <li>Familiarity with prompt engineering, vector databases, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).</li> <li>Proficiency in Java and/or Python and experience developing microservices.</li> <li>Experience with SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL).</li> <li>Ability to work across disciplines, collaborating effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.</li> <li>Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.</li> <li>Experience in healthcare, biosensors, or related fields is a plus but not required.</li> <li>This remote opportunity based out of the U.S. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are not offering new visa sponsorships at this time, but may transfer existing visas for qualified candidates.</li> </ul> Compensation and Benefits   The compensation range for this position is $145,000-$160,000 annually.  Twin has an ambitious vision to empower people to live healthier and happier lives, and to achieve this purpose, we need the very best people to enhance our cutting-edge technology and medical science, deliver the best possible care, and turn our passion into value for our members, partners and investors.
