The teams unique client-centric culture is integrated into each project and reflects a passion for the built environment and staying true to the client’s vision.</p><h3>Job Description</h3><p><strong>Turner &amp; Townsend Heery</strong> is seeking an <strong>Assistant Project Manager</strong> responsible for medium to large sized projects for our offices North Houston area public school and government clients. This role will be ONSITE in far North Houston - please take this into consideration when applying. No remote work or hybrid. </p><p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Initiating, coordinating, managing, and accomplishing the design for all assigned projects. </li><li>Ensures compliance with Design Standards, Code Compliance, Sustainability Requirements and provides Construction Phasing and Implementation.</li><li>Manages all facets of project management (budget, schedule, procurement, quality &amp; risk) for projects. </li><li>Demonstrates capability to read, understand and apply standard to complex documents affecting design projects, including but not limited to agreements/contracts, leases, work letters, project charters, surveys and drawings.</li><li>Develops Design Task Orders based on approved scope. </li><li>Gathers design team proposals, reviews for compliance with Task Order, reviews cost proposals and man-hour projections, schedule milestones, insurance requirements and other legal requirements.</li><li>Manage Submittal and Review Process:  Typical process includes Program Validation, Basis of Design, Design Documents includes 35% / Schematic Design, 65% / Design Development, 95% Construction Documents (Drawings and Specifications) and the 100% Issue for Bid Sets.</li><li>Implements communication plan for meetings and written reports/meeting minutes to keep client and project resources informed.</li><li>Facilitates project meetings.</li><li>Implement project documentation governance aligned with company and client requirements.</li><li>Ensure project data integrity and documentation is accurate, timely and coordinated.</li><li>Tracks progress of each project against goals, objectives, approved budgets, approved timelines.</li><li>Reports status and variances.</li><li>Creates action plans to meet objectives, budget and schedule.</li><li>Implements change management routines to assess change requests, make recommendations, secure client approvals, and issue change orders.</li><li>Assesses change requests to determine impacts to scope, budget, schedule, quality and risk.</li><li>Demonstrates a knowledge of projects &amp; project management within the context of business results (business case, larger economic implications, business risk, etc).</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li><li>*SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or similar field, or equivalent experience.</li><li>A minimum of 2 years of experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, or similar, in assisting or supervising construction projects of increasing complexity required.</li><li>Facility construction experience is a preferred.</li><li>Some experience in CSA (civil, structural, architectural) and MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing)</li><li>Detail-oriented and thorough with strong work ethic.</li><li>Skilled in data processing and analytics.</li><li>Experience with MS Excel and Projects preferred.</li><li>Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations.</li><li>Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic.</li><li>Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the client.</li><li>Ability to read and understand architectural drawings.</li><li>Knowledge in MS Project, contracts, and construction practices.</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><p><strong>*On-site presence and requirements may change depending on our clients needs* </strong></p><p>Our inspired people share our vision and mission.
