You will work with our payment processing partners and gateways to identify new workflows with an eye on giving our consumers more options to suit their needs, such as alternative payment methods or flexible payment scheduling. </div><div><br /></div><div>In this role, you will collaborate closely with the UX, Design, and Experimentation teams to build and maintain a seamless front-end web experience, enabling consumers to easily make payments and manage their accounts. You will possess a strong understanding of both patterns and anti-patterns, effectively applying them in your work. You will keep up with industry news and take initiative in introducing innovative techniques to our company. </div><div><br /></div><div>You will be trusted to recognize, articulate the severity and keep a record of tech debt in our system, as well as plan and execute clear paths to address these challenges. Regardless of the daily tasks, the focus is on delivering high-quality, high-maintainability code. In addition to daily tasks, a Senior Engineer will:</li><li>Contribute ideas into the technical and product roadmap, and estimate effort for initiative discovery and execution.</li><li>Collaborate with product managers and fellow engineers to translate product and business requirements into technical implementations.</li><li>Proactively solve code challenges; you can predict breaks in code, anticipate solutions, and consider the impacts of those solutions.</li><li>Mentor other engineers and share knowledge, either through pair-programming or other methods.</li><div><br /></div></ul><h3>Qualifications:</h3><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with 5+ years of relevant experience.</li><li>Proficient with Golang, React, Payment processing, UX</li><li>Makes well-reasoned design/development trade-offs in their specialty area, and provides reasonable high-level advice in others.</li><li>Proactively identifies parts of the code that are inefficient/ineffective based on research, and can come up with a plan to fix.</li><li>Plans and communicates the technical roadmap in coordination with the product roadmap.</li><li>Can facilitate a meeting with technical and non-technical stakeholders, with clear agenda and meeting outcomes.</li><li>Has full end-to-end responsibility over a complex initiative.</li><li>Works directly with Product Management and other teams in scoping out long-term plans.</li><li>Solves most issues in their area of expertise without help.</li><li>Go-to expert for several portions of the codebase.</li><li>Consults engineering and non-engineering stakeholders during relevant phases of product initiatives, takes ownership of key software modules and/or services after delivering them in production.</li><li>Leads by example in improving code quality and stewardship, particularly via thoughtful, detailed comments in code reviews.</li><li>Operates with a thorough comprehension of assigned domain(s) boundaries, objectives, and stakeholders expectations, enabling the ability to make forward-thinking decisions that align with the companys long-term plans.</li><li>Continually shares knowledge, coaches and mentors group members as needed.</li><li>Supports team members in preventing overwork and burn-out.</li><li>Actively participates in helping the team hire by being a member of hiring panels and code reviews as needed.</li></ul><div><span>We are a dynamic group of people who are subject matter experts with a passion for change.
