Software bridges the gap between military objectives, theoretical astrodynamics and the human and autonomous control of spacecraft and ground systems in time and space. True Anomaly is seeking a highly-experienced Staff Elixir Software Engineer to lead development of our distributed spacecraft ground control system.  You do not need to have experience building space ground systems or experience in aerospace. You’ll have ownership of challenging, greenfield problems and a chance to fundamentally impact the outcome of future conflict (and the future of the company), all while enjoying world-class benefits including platinum healthcare, flexible work hours/location, highly competitive compensation and a generous stock options package.  RESPONSIBILITIES <ul> <li>Design, develop, and sustain satellite command and control, mission planning, mission data processing and data analysis software systems using Elixir </li> <li>Create and implement clean software architectures that deliver consistent results from a growing team while scaling in complexity </li> <li>Leverage Domain-Driven Design to surface fundamental capabilities and decompose work scope into core business logic to achieve specific, measurable business outcomes </li> <li>Champion simple software development lifecycle processes that ensure transparency, traceability, and accountability </li> <li>Lead cross-discipline teams to deliver impactful results through collaboration, coordination, and systems integration </li> </ul> QUALIFICATIONS <ul> <li>10+ years of production software development experience </li> <li>Practical experience with Elixir or other functional programming languages like Erlang, Clojure, Scala, or Haskell </li> <li>Proven experience developing resilient and fault-tolerant architecture </li> <li>Demonstrated leadership ability, exceptional written and oral communication skills, and aptitude for working across disciplines </li> <li>Enjoys debugging and problem-solving systems supporting active spacecraft operations </li> <li>Experience with distributed systems and API design  </li> <li>A strong bias towards action while understanding and rejecting the status quo </li> </ul> PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar discipline or relevant experience </li> <li>Deep understanding of Elixir and OTP including BEAM scheduling, GenServers, supervision trees, and the Actor model </li> <li>Experience with OAuth2 and Role-Based Access Controls </li> <li>Database experience with PostgreSQL and time-series databases like InfluxDB </li> <li>Experience with monitoring and tracing in a distributed system </li> <li>An understanding of containerized infrastructure and orchestration with Kubernetes </li> <li>Experience working with real-time or game engine backends </li> </ul> COMPENSATION <ul> <li>Colorado Base Salary: $175,000-$240,000</li> <li>California Base Salary: $180,000-$255,000</li> <li>Washington D.C.
