A Brief Overview
The position leads, designs, and implements development tools and processes for in-house development. The role supports cultural and operational transformation efforts and IT Technology process improvements, including but not limited to change management, application deployment, incident management continuous integration and deployment.

What you will do

  • Collaborates with software developers, product managers, test engineers and administrators on projects to design, develop, and improve the build, release, and deploy toolchain for DevOps
  • Establishes all aspects of a DevOps environment focused on automation and collaboration to facilitate product release management
  • Provides technical expertise for development tools, process, automation, and standard methodologies to support the software development process; applies agile development methodologies to highly complex modules
  • Identifies, documents, and runs system integration tests to ensure end-to-end workflows are executing correctly
  • Works with the development teams to establish a development process using code branching and versioning to improve development efficiency within a continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline
  • Documents processes, tools, software, and scripts in support of the DevOps offerings and seeks opportunities for software development tools and process improvements
  • Analyzes system, data, infrastructure requirements and ensures that all system interfaces support the requirements
  • Collaborates with engineering and IT on current and emerging technologies and impact on software development and stays abreast of overall technology trends within the industry enhancing knowledge and expertise
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience preferred 

Experience Qualifications

  • Typically 8+ years 

Skills and Abilities

  • Solid understanding of software development and design, Agile methodology, DevOps tools and processes with a mindset geared toward automation, scalability, and reliability.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with executives and business partners 
  • Expert knowledge to assess and improve the CI/CD process, code quality, code security, code testing, frequent code releases and compliance with end-to-end automation 
  • Schema architecture and design with strong knowledge of CD /CI tools, Web, Middleware and Database technologies
  • Hands-on experience with Docker for containerizing applications, managing container images, and working with container registries
  • Proficiency in container image creation, optimization, and vulnerability scanning using tools like Trivy, Snyk, or similar
  • Ability to write complex programs and scripts in languages such as Perl, Ansible and Python and advanced error handling and debugging techniques
  • Excellent grasp of web services and SOA concepts to help implement scalable solutions
  • Passion for working in fast-paced environments and contributing to platform and infrastructure efficiency
  • Excellent attention to details and organizational skills

Licenses and Certifications

  • HashiCorp Terraform Associate Certification or equivalent hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform preferred.

The preferred location for this role is Atlanta, GA, and the salary range for this location is $106,300.00 to $233,800.00.  All qualified external applicants will be considered for an in-office role, based in Atlanta.  All qualified internal candidates are encouraged to apply and consider relocation to Atlanta and may be considered for remote hire at the company’s discretion. The candidate’s final salary offer will be based on the candidate’s skills, education, work location and experience.

A candidate’s compensation may also include bonuses consistent with TriNet’s corporate bonus plan.
