We combine performance rigor with creative experimentation to unlock meaningful contribution and deliver against Thumbtack’s mission of helping homeowners and home professionals accomplish more. </p> <h2><strong>About the Role</strong></h2> <p>We’re looking for a strategic and hands-on <strong>Senior Marketing Manager</strong> to lead and scale Thumbtack’s Paid Social program. This role will manage two direct reports and serve as the go-to expert across social growth channels - including Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, and influencer marketing. You’ll drive both national and local campaigns, marrying sharp execution with cross-functional leadership and a strong understanding of how social fits within our broader growth engine.</p> <p>The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in paid social, has worked across the performance marketing ecosystem, and thrives in dynamic environments. Youre a strong operator, creative problem solver, and people-first leader who can elevate both strategy and team impact.</p> <h2>What youll do</h2> <ul> <li><strong>Own and scale Thumbtack’s paid social strategy</strong> across platforms like Meta, TikTok, and Pinterest - driving incremental customer growth, while balancing positive contribution.</li> <li>Own the <strong>tracking, attribution, and incrementality measurement strategy</strong> for paid social, partnering with internal and third-party tools to ensure confidence in results.</li> <li><strong>Lead, mentor, and develop two direct reports</strong>, providing strategic direction and hands-on coaching to uplevel the team’s execution and impact.</li> <li>Translate customer insights and performance signals into <strong>an experimentation roadmap</strong>—driving a continuous test-and-learn culture across audiences, creative, and platforms.</li> <li>Oversee all aspects of <strong>campaign management</strong>—including budget pacing, bid optimization, creative iteration, audience segmentation, and platform best practices.</li> <li><strong>Audit and evolve the paid social tech stack</strong>, unlocking automation, signal improvements, and campaign efficiency - especially within Meta and TikTok.</li> <li>Partner closely with analytics, product, and marketing tech teams to build <strong>automated tools for audience workflows, creative decisioning, campaign builds, and reporting.</strong><strong><br /></strong></li> <li>Collaborate with Brand and Creative teams to develop and iterate <strong>thumb-stopping, performance-driven creative</strong> that also advances Thumbtack’s brand narrative.</li> <li><strong>Manage external agency and platform relationships</strong> - pushing for innovation, unlocking new opportunities, and ensuring Thumbtack remains on the leading edge of social marketing.</li> <li>Drive executive-level reporting and translate channel performance into business impact.</li> </ul> <h2><strong>In order to be successful, you must bring </strong></h2> <ul> <li>A Bachelors/Master’s in Marketing, Business, Statistics, Economics, or a related field preferred</li> <li>6 - 8 years of experience managing, scaling, and evolving paid social programs</li> <li>Proven success leading high-performing teams and developing talent</li> <li>Deep expertise in Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, and emerging social platforms</li> <li>Strong analytical chops - experience with Excel/Google Sheets (pivot tables, lookups) and hands-on exposure to incrementality, lift testing, and attribution frameworks</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to manage <strong>multi-million dollar budgets</strong> with efficiency and strategic rigor</li> <li>Confident communicator with experience presenting to senior stakeholders and cross-functional partners</li> <li>Comfort in a fast-paced, high-stakes growth org - with a bias for action, experimentation, and results</li> </ul> <h2><strong>Expected salary ranges</strong></h2> <ul> <li>For candidates living in San Francisco / Bay Area, San Jose, New York City, or Seattle metros, the expected salary range for the role is currently $155,550 - $201,300. </li> <li>For candidates living in Austin, TX or Washington DC metros or in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, or Washington states, the expected salary range for the role is currently $140,250 - $181,500. </li> <li>For candidates living in all other US locations, the expected salary range for this role is currently $132,600 - $171,600.</li> </ul> <p>Actual offered salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as calibrated job level, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.</p> <p><span>#LI-Remote</span></p><div><p><span>Thumbtack embraces diversity.
