Thornton Tomasetti is looking for an IT Support Technician who can thrive in a varied and interesting hands on-support role. This includes local and remote end-user IT support, Onboarding of New Hires, and maintenance/availability of the local IT Infrastructure.

The Role
The IT Support Technician will need a broad technical skillset, excellent communication skills and ability to work and collaborate with the wider IT-Team, who are based in the US, Canada, UK and India. As this role requires hands-on service, the position is on-site in our Chicago office.
Responsibilities
Must be able to work independently with limited supervision.
Provide friendly first and second level technical support to local (NYC) office and remote users in the US, to ensure timely resolution of end-user issues.
Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end-user workstations and related hardware and software.
Perform onsite analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex computer problems for end users, and recommend and implement corrective solutions, including offsite repair for remote users as needed.
Onboarding of New Hires, equipment collection of leavers, and support local meetings.
Assist with Project Work including office moves, integrations, secure work etc.
Support Global IT, Infrastructure, and information security requirements, in accordance with global standards (including daily monitoring of server room and IDF closets)
Willing to be trained to be Subject Matter Expert on various software/technology platforms.
Have excellent customer service skills, be willing to take ownership of a ticket, and engage other departments if necessary to resolve.
Requirements:
Diploma or university degree in computer science and/or 3+ years equivalent work experience.
Preferred Certifications: A+ (MSCA, MCSE and/or MTA. ITIL qualifications would be advantageous. Network+ certification a plus)
Must have (or be willing and able to obtain) Secret security clearance
Infrequent evening/weekend/travel work may be needed with occasional visits to other US offices, as required.
Compensation
The rate for this position generally is $1 - $400 hourly. This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the Illinois State Pay Transparency Law. It is based on what a successful Illinois State applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in Illinois State or perform the position from Illinois State. Similar positions located outside of Illinois State will not necessarily receive the same compensation. Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted by Illinois Equal Pay Transparency Law. Compensation offers will be based on various factors, including operational needs, individual education, qualifications and experience, work location and comparison to employee already in the role, as well as other considerations permitted by law. A potential new employee’s pay history will not be used in compensation decisions.Benefits
