Chemours is seeking a Sr. Staff Engineer to join our growing Thermal & Specialized Solutions (TSS) Technical Service team! This remote position will report to the Global Technical Services Manager – TSS and is based in Canada.  The primary focus of this role will be to provide direct technical support for our next generation OpteonTM refrigerant solutions to air-conditioning and refrigeration (ACR) OEMs, aftermarket customers, and end users throughout Canada.  This highly visible role will require regular direct interaction with a wide variety of industry stakeholders.  Travel requirements of up to 40% are expected throughout North America.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Direct support for ACR OEMs, aftermarket customers, and end users
  • Regular interaction with R&D, Marketing, and Regulatory functions
  • Technical writing and literature development related to next generation refrigerants
  • Handling refrigerant-related calls and emails
  • In-person and virtual industry training through seminars and webinars
  • Supporting case studies and field trials for new refrigerants
  • Supporting activities related to refrigerant lifecycle (e.g., reclaim)
  • Codes & Standards related activities (e.g., NBC/NFC, IEC, UL/CSA, TDG)
  • Involvement in industry associations (e.g., HRAI, EPR, ASHRAE, RMC, ECCC)

The following is required for this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering
  • 10+ years of experience with refrigerants and/or air-conditioning and refrigeration systems
  • Strong understanding or experience in refrigeration requirements, design, or chemistry
  • Ability to travel regularly
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Canadian residency

The following is preferred for this role:

  • Advanced degree in science or engineering
  • Located in the greater Toronto area
  • Demonstrated experience with fluorochemical handling
  • Demonstrated experience with CSA/ASHRAE/IEC/UL standards and committees

Annual Bonus Target:
