Chemours is seeking a Regulatory Compliance Expert, North America to join our Product Sustainability team in the USA! This position will report directly to the Regulatory Compliance Manger – Americas.
The Regulatory Compliance Expert, North America is a role within a subject matter expert team focused on Corporate Product Sustainability, requiring strong knowledge of US State and Canadian Environmental Protection Act (CEPA) regulations. This expert is leading compliance projects, identifies risks, develops solutions, and drives implementation timelines, while also improving workflows.
Subject matter expert for specific chemical management regulatory activities supporting all businesses (U.S. States, TRI Customer Notifications, Chemical Diversion and Trafficking Act (DEA), Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) and Canadian Environmental Protection Act (CEPA))
Responsible and accountable for managing complex obligations
Leading cross-functional teams in matrix organizations to develop and implement strategies to ensure compliance with product regulatory requirements
Liaising with and managing relationships with external parties and stakeholders
Translating requests from internal partners towards current and proposed regulatory requirements
Responding to regulatory compliance inquiries and performing periodic reviews and evaluations to validate compliance with applicable regulations
Monitoring, conducting impact assessments, and communicating regulatory changes relevant to Chemours products to internal partners
Monitoring business activities to verify regulatory compliance deadlines and requirements are met
Contributing to the development of regulatory recommendations and decisions to relevant stakeholders
Creating and delivering training to business unit stakeholders to increase their regulatory awareness
Maintaining comprehensive project documentation
The following is required for this role:
5+ years U.S. State and/or Canada CEPA compliance work experience
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related field
Track record of successful regulatory submissions
Ability to support a complex product portfolio for an international company
Experience with SAP
Ability to provide information to a variety of audiences effectively
Proven excellent project management skills and tools
Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
Results oriented individual
Ability to lead through influence
The following is preferred for this role:
Previous experience working with chemical regulations under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act (CEPA)
Skilled in understanding complex systems, identifying repetitive tasks, and utilizing various IT tools to automate tasks resulting in increased efficiency
