The People Partner will have the opportunity to partner and collaborate with our expansive Headquarters team, ensuring our employees and managers have the optimal employment experience. As a People Partner, you will be the go-to trusted HR resource for the leaders and employees. </div><div><br /></div><div>The ideal candidate will collaborate extensively with the broader People Team and Headquarters management to ensure working at The Athletic is a world-class experience for all. The People Business Partner must possess strong business acumen and a deep understanding of our core business to best support their stakeholders. The ideal People Partner is eager to develop deep connections, confidently advise management, roll up their sleeves to build alongside an innovative team, and foster a world-class employee experience. </div><div><br /></div><div>This role is 100% remote for candidates currently residing in the United States or Canada. </div><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Serve as a business partner to the Headquarters team, acting as a liaison between your employee population, senior leadership, and the People Team. </li><li>Advocate on behalf of the Headquarters staff to ensure your people have the tools, resources, and support they and the business need to be successful.</li><li>Serve as a key stakeholder to help build, iterate, implement and facilitate core People programs (performance reviews, benefits, onboarding/offboarding, training, etc.). </li><li>Develop and maintain meaningful, high-touch relationships across the Headquarters management team. </li><li>Understand our business model and goals, partner with Headquarters management to drive business priorities forward. </li><li>Approach people matters with a compliance-driven mindset, sound judgment, discretion, empathy and confidentiality.</li><li>Manage employee relations cases and investigations including performance management, conflict resolution, and employee concerns.</li><li>Perform an array of HR generalist and administrative tasks to ensure data integrity across all systems, reports, and programs.</li><li>Partner with Headquarters management and Talent team to drive workforce planning and internal mobility efforts. </li><li>Operate as a change agent, rolling out new programs through strong communications, trainings, and management partnership.</li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent and relevant professional experience.</li><li>3+ years’ experience in a People/HR role.</li><li>Reputation of integrity, accountability, service, and dedicated work ethic.</li><li>Demonstrated strong competence in core HR areas, federal and state employment laws and HR best practices.</li><li>Fundamental understanding of the business, key success metrics and organization structures. </li><li>Ability to confidently coach, mentor and advise employees and management.</li><li>Deep desire to connect with employees and build relationships; trusted advocate.</li><li>Self-starter comfortable under pressure in a fast-paced, fluid environment. </li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>Exceptional attention to detail and documentation abilities. </li><li>Proficient with Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.</li><li>Proficient HRIS experience, preferably Workday.</li><li>SHRM or PHR certification highly preferred.</li></ul><div><i>The annual base salary range for this role is $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 USD. The total compensation offered for this position may vary based on factors such as education, experience, skills, and location. It may also include non-cash rewards and benefits.
