Each Landing Station (LS) serves as a critical node in the satellite ground infrastructure. The role ensures that all LS deployments meet technical specifications, quality standards, and project timelines, enabling seamless integration into the broader satellite network.</div><h3>Main Responsibilities:</h3><ul><li>Support the deployment, testing, and site acceptance plans with multiple suppliers of LS satellite-related equipment across geographically dispersed sites</li><li>Define LS troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and operational procedures</li><li>Support development of training plans and materials for LS testing, maintenance, and operations</li><li>Provide training for local LS Site resources</li><li>Achieve successful handover of LS Sites from engineering to Telesat Operations.</li><li>Work with engineering to implement design modifications/changes as required</li><li>Support execution of LS systems and software validation tests</li><li>Maintain comprehensive data packages including as-built drawings, acceptance reports, and O&amp;M documentation</li><li>Manage records for accepted assets at each LS in accordance with financial procedures.</li><li>Assist in the creation and review of LS Site test and configuration procedures</li><li>Support Telesat operations during system deployment and verification</li><li>Perform other duties as required</li></ul><h3>Education &amp; Experience Required:</h3><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Computer Science with a Minimum of 7 years’ experience in satellite ground system operations or an Electronics Engineering Technologist Diploma with 10 years of experience in satellite ground system operation</li></ul><h3>Specialized Knowledge, Skills &amp; Abilities:</h3><ul><li>Familiarity with earth station monitoring and control systems</li><li>Understanding of facilities systems: HVAC, UPS, generators, grounding, lightning protection, pest control, and security systems</li><li>Ability to define and create operations and maintenance plans</li><li>Ability to develop and deliver training materials</li><li>Strong analytical skills to summarize complex problems and recommend solutions.</li><li>Expertise using RF and Network Test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, power meters, signal generator, etc.</li><li>Ability to obtain heavy equipment training certifications for forklift and telehandler operation </li><li>Strong organizational skills</li><li>Independent and self-motivated, with the ability to work effectively both individually and in a team environment</li><li>Fluent in English (written and oral)</li></ul><h3>Decision Making &amp; Supervision:</h3><ul><li>Develop and recommend technical and operational solutions</li><li>Evaluate and recommend acceptance of major assets and service contracts</li><li>Prioritize tasks and support project teams effectively</li><li>No direct reports, but expected to lead multidisciplinary project teams</li><li>Provide technical guidance to engineers and specialists</li><li>Supervise suppliers and contractors during implementation activities</li></ul><h3>Working Conditions:</h3><ul><li>Option to work in office (hybrid) at Telesat Headquarters in Ottawa or work remotely from a home office </li><li>Travel approximately 60% of time</li><li>Extensive travel required, including international travel</li><li>Must be available to work across multiple time zones and outside standard working hours as needed</li><li>Candidates must have no international travel or visa restrictions</li><li>Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record</li><li>Possession of valid passport or the ability to get one</li><li>The successful candidate must be able to work in Canada and obtain clearance under the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP)</li></ul><div>At Telesat, we take pride in being an equal opportunity employer that values equality in the workplace.   We are committed to providing the best candidate experience possible including any required accommodations at every stage of our interview process.   All qualified applicants that have been selected for an interview that require accommodations, are advised to inform the Telesat Talent team accordingly.  We will work with you to meet your needs.   All accommodation information provided will be treated as confidential.</div><div><br /></div>
