Job Description:

Role Summary:

Reporting to the SVP, OnePay Marketing Leader, the Commercialization Leader will play a critical role in developing and launching the newly announced OnePay and Walmart credit program.  This role will serve as the strategic right hand to the SVP and act as the primary orchestrator of commercialization strategic planning, launch execution, and cross-functional alignment.

The leader will work closely with Synchrony and OnePay’s stakeholders – including product, digital, analytics, and client relationship teams – to define and execute the integrated marketing roadmap that supports top-line growth and long-term portfolio health.  The role requires a deep understanding of consumer finance, digital wallets, and partner-based marketing, with an emphasis on fast-paced, cross-functional delivery.  This position includes dotted-line management of a dedicated Product Manager and may also include direct people leadership responsibilities over time.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Commercialization strategy & execution

  • Lead the product introduction strategy for the OnePay and Walmart credit program, including development of new initiatives and strategic rollouts
  • Build and socialize robust business cases to secure internal and partner alignment
  • Translate high-level marketing strategy into actionable execution plans across internal and external teams
  • Strategic marketing leadership
  • Drive high-impact multi-channel marketing initiatives focused on customer acquisition, usage, and retention
  • Oversee the development and execution of promotional campaigns, lifecycle journeys, digital CX, and in-market experiments
  • Leverage market research and segmentation to refine audience targeting, positioning, messaging, and offer optimization
  • Partner with internal and external creative and media teams to deliver best-in-class marketing activations
  • Lead internal and external operating rhythms, including annual marketing plan, weekly client meetings, Monthly Business Reviews, and marketing budget
  • Product management
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction to a dedicated Product Manager (dotted-line), ensuring integration between product development and commercialization planning
  • Align product roadmap with business goals, partner needs, and customer insights
  • Serve as the marketing voice in feature prioritization, product launches, and end-to-end experience optimization
  • Evaluate value proposition and identify opportunities to enhance based on customer voice, trends, and Walmart strategic initiatives to drive higher NPS and product engagement
  • Client partnership & relationship management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal teams driving the execution of program’s credit initiatives
  • Build trust-based partnerships with OnePay’s client leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure marketing alignment with partnership goals
  • Act as the voice of the partner within Synchrony to remove roadblocks and accelerate decision-making
  • Insights-driven planning
  • Collaborate with analytics and insights terms to inform marketing strategy with data-backed consumer trends, product performance, and competitive intelligence
  • Partner with digital, product, and UX leads to optimize new feature adoption and program engagement
  • Develop lifecycle marketing strategies and build operating rhythm to gauge effectiveness for ongoing optimization
  • Cross-functional orchestration
  • Align resources and priorities across marketing, digital, legal, compliance, creative, analytics, product, and credit to ensure seamless execution
  • Drive program readiness through ownership of commercialization calendars, launch milestones, and team coordination
  • Performance monitoring and optimization
  • Track commercial/product strategies and campaign performance metrics to evaluate success and inform future enhancements
  • Adjust strategies in real-time to support customer adoption, retention, and long term profitability


Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or, in lieu of a degree, a high school equivalent and 14+ years of marketing experience within the credit card or financial service industry to include:

  • 10+ years of consumer lending experience with critical experiences in amongst others: product marketing; channel management; new product introductions; and, strategic planning and analysis

  • 5+ years credit marketing experience

  • Must be willing to travel extensively

Grade/Level: 14

The salary range for this position is 150,000.00 - 250,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles.  Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles.  Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post.  All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
