Job Description:

  • Role Summary/Purpose:

As a UX Native Designer, you will join Synchrony’s scaled agile teams and partner with CX, marketing, development, and process owners to conceptualize and develop engaging native experiences for our strategically significant core customer-facing applications. The candidate will be responsible for creating and presenting modern native app designs, collaborating with lead designers and agile team members, and working with user researchers to incorporate usability testing results. Additionally, the candidate will act as a champion for user experience by providing thought leadership.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with design leads on project planning and reviews

  • Develop user flows, scenarios, wireframes, comps, and prototypes of native apps as needed by teams

  • Contribute to the design review cycle, synthesize feedback, and close on design requirements

  • Engage with UX research to assist in running tests and incorporating their results into design

  • Engage with business and IT owners in agile processes

  • Act as an advocate for the end user’s experience

  • Collaborate effectively with remote team members and managers

  • Be a part of daily/weekly standups and present work to peers

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years user experience, visual design, product design, or interaction design experience

  • Strong understanding of user centered design and design thinking

  • Strong understanding of iOS and Android UI guidelines

  • Experience working on agile teams

  • Willingness to travel as needed, up to 25%

Desired Characteristics:

  • Minimum of 1 year designing native apps

  • Bachelor’s Degree or certification in UX, HCI, graphic design, psychology, marketing or information technology or similar area, or equivalent experience.

  • Ability to present work to team members as well as executive leadership

  • Ability to work with remote team members

  • Ability to ensure designs are ADA Compliant

Grade/Level: 10

                                                                             

The salary range for this position is 75,000.00 - 130,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

                   

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles.  Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles.  Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post.  All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
