Symetra has an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Alternative Assets Associate!   About the role The Alternative Assets Associate will assist in the sourcing, modeling, evaluation, legal negotiation, execution and monitoring of alternative assets for SIM’s clients, and in particular, its affiliated life insurance clients. The successful candidate will assist in executing this strategy with a particular emphasis on the unique needs and/or constraints of each corresponding client portfolio, and in a way that balances sometimes competing objectives such as risk, long-term return, capital and/or tax efficiency, and other factors. The investable universe is expected to include externally managed positions, such as private equity, private credit, secondaries, affordable housing tax credit funds, CLO equity, co-investments, and other potential areas as identified by the Head of Alternative Assets and approved internally. Conduct manager due diligence, coordinating with other areas of SIM as appropriate. Develop/expand relationships with sourcing partners. Present recommendations internally. Collaborate with legal and compliance teams on documentation.</li> <li>Conduct ongoing reporting and surveillance of investments and external managers. Monitor appropriate analyses for holdings.
