We are proud to be part of The Stepstone Group, a global expert in job-tech platforms and e-recruiting. Join our team of 4,000+ employees and be part of reshaping the labour market and becoming the world’s leading job-tech platform.  <h3>Job Description</h3>The job at a glanceWe’re looking for a Staff Big Data Engineer who is passionate about building meaningful, data-driven products that have real-world impact.In this hands-on and strategic role, you’ll design and lead the development of secure, scalable data solutions that power intelligent search, matching, and recommendations across our global platform.Working within the Marketplace Enablement portfolio in the Data Products and Search &amp; Match function, you’ll collaborate with a diverse mix of engineers, data scientists, product managers, and stakeholders to drive innovation and build with purpose.This is a hybrid role based in Warsaw, with flexible remote working options.<h3>Qualifications</h3>Your responsibilities<ul><li>Lead the architecture and development of big data solutions within a modern cloud environment (AWS)</li><li>Design, build, and scale batch and real-time data pipelines that support inclusive, AI-driven features</li><li>Partner with teams across the business to align data products with user needs and long-term goals</li><li>Establish best practices in Big Data Engineering, fostering a culture of quality, learning, and collaboration</li><li>Mentor engineers across teams, helping them grow while raising the overall standard of our work</li><li>Actively contribute to our big data engineering community, sharing knowledge and supporting others</li></ul>Your skills and qualifications<ul><li>Solid experience designing and deploying scalable, secure big data systems</li><li>Proficiency in Python, Apache Spark / PySpark, and AWS big data technologies</li><li>Familiarity with tools like Apache Airflow, AWS Step Functions, or AWS Glue Workflows</li><li>Understanding of batch and real-time processing; experience with Kafka is a plus</li><li>Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle, CI/CD, containerization, observability, and security</li><li>Strong collaboration, communication, and mentoring skills</li><li>Comfortable working in a cross-functional environment and advocating for best practices</li><li>A growth mindset, with a passion for inclusive technology and solving meaningful problems</li><li>Fluency in English; experience in agile environments is a plus</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3>BenefitsWe’re a community here that cares as much about your life outside work as how you feel when you’re with us.
