We’ve shown that we make a real difference for physician practices and their patients.</div>About the position: As a Senior Software Engineer, you will build and maintain core parts of our data and application platform. Our team offers an experienced and mature engineering culture and an environment where every single engineer has a direct impact on the success of our business.  The Platform team’s mission is to provide Stellar with cutting-edge, reliable, and easy-to-use infrastructure for ingesting, storing, processing, and extracting valuable insights from data in order to enable downstream users to be successful. The team is tight-knit with high ownership, and your work will have a meaningful impact on our ability to directly improve patient access to health care.  <h3>The Platform team</h3> The Platform handles external integrations, data ingestion, normalization and transformation. In partnership with our technical implementation and analytics teams, it also owns data quality, performance measurement and enables advanced analytics and data science applications. On this team, you’ll build and manage ETLs and the infrastructure that makes them easily configurable and more automated. You’ll orchestrate complex workflows that process billions of claims for millions of patients, and you’ll create foundational data models that allow our analytics partners to build quickly and safely on top of robust, correct data. Key highlights and technical challenges of this team: <ul> <li>Handle data from 10M+ patients being ingested on a regular cadence, often in a fully automated way. </li> <li>Build and maintain over 60 integrations, including batch processing and event based processing, doubling every year.</li> <li>Maintain a high degree of data safety and quality.</li> <li>Continue to lower costs, decrease turnaround time and raise quality from data ingestion to data consumption to insight generation. </li> <li>Create tools, automation and frameworks to streamline and build reliable data ingestion pipelines.</li> </ul> What you’ll do: <ul> <li>Build best-in-class services and infrastructure for our platform teams</li> <li>Ensure our users are presented with timely and accurate information that helps them do their job. </li> <li>Evolve the architecture to improve operational efficiency and support business growth</li> <li>Actively contribute to Stellar’s Engineering Culture and ensure engineers are writing clear and concise production code for the Stellar Health Platform</li> <li>Provide effective and constructive feedback by reviewing others’ work</li> <li>Set consistent standards via code and design reviews, as well as your own technical contributions</li> <li>Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture, including but not limited to data ingestion, consumption, and export </li> <li>Build a high quality platform which is scalable, efficient, and flexible to handle various customer and internal data</li> <li>Work with leaders and key stakeholders to identify the bottlenecks for the system and for the whole end-to-end process to improve SLOs, improve data quality, and reduce manual work</li> </ul> As Senior Software Engineer you should have: <ul> <li>At least five years of total experience, with recent hands-on experience writing production-level code (Python is preferred / Java / C++ / Go)</li> <li>Experience in a cloud platform such as AWS (preferred), GCP, Azure</li> <li>Expertise in relational databases, such as PostgreSQL</li> <li>Experience driving medium to large projects from inception to completion</li> <li>Great written and verbal communication skills. Where a new hire falls within this range will be based on their individual skills and experience, and how these competencies compare across other employees in the same role. Stellars bands are designed to allow for individual compensation growth within the role.  As such, new hires typically start at the lower end of the range.  Stellar rewards performance and outcomes - should you join the company, you will have the opportunity to grow your salary over time.
