We are moving beyond traditional funnels to build a D2C brand and a habit-forming product. You will iterate rapidly on acquisition loops, activation pathways, and nurturing experiences to convert and re-engage members, ultimately driving Spring’s mission of eliminating every barrier to mental health. We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to help us evolve all of our mobile experiences to be best-in-class in service of this mission. Please note that candidates for this position must be based in the Seattle metro area and be willing to commute 2-3 days a week when this role transitions to a hybrid schedule in 2026.  Were excited to be growing our presence in Seattle! What you’ll be doing: <ul> <li>Leveling up our mobile architecture and code quality through planned evolution</li> <li>Leading by example with hands on refactoring and feature development projects</li> <li>Applying your passion for scalable and extensible architecture to high impact products</li> <li>Executing quickly and efficiently in a collaborative team setting</li> <li>Contributing to a thriving team of engineers around you</li> <li>Establishing and upholding performance, accessibility, and usability standards.</li> <li>Maintaining automated testing, release health metrics, and crash-free rate targets.</li> <li>Partnering with design to define a mobile design system and UX heuristics.</li> <li>Owning mobile CI/CD, app release process, and SDK/framework upgrades.</li> <li>Improving developer velocity through shared tooling, build systems, and feature-flag management.</li> <li>Defining code architecture patterns and platform guardrails for all mobile development.</li> <li>Providing technical direction and oversight for the larger organization</li> <li>Participate in an on-call rotation to support system reliability and respond to production issues</li> <li>Collaborate flexibly across time zones, as needed, to support distributed teams and stakeholders</li> </ul> What success looks like in this role: <ul> <li>Energetic immersion in complex mobile projects</li> <li>On time planned deliveries and high velocity incremental deliveries</li> <li>High quality engineering output, in terms of both product and codebase</li> <li>Trend of reducing technical debt reduction and improving engineering excellence </li> <li>Great productive relationships in engineering and across functions like PM and Design</li> <li>Organization wide leadership as an exemplary engineer and mentor</li> <li>Anticipates and removes barriers of all kinds while independently handling ambiguity</li> <li>Given a clear strategy, can define a sequence of objectives</li> <li>Given a clear vision, can create a strategy to get there</li> </ul> What we expect from you: <ul> <li>At least 10 years experience as a software engineer</li> <li>At least 5 years of cumulative experience or exposure developing mobile apps on both Flutter (Dart) and React Native (JS/TS)</li> <li>Track record of proactive and collaborative leadership style</li> <li>Track record of technical leadership, creating clarity from ambiguity</li> </ul> The target base salary range for this position is $200,800 - $245,000, and is part of a competitive total rewards package including stock options and benefits. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
