In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing strategic sourcing, supplier management, and procurement operations across several indirect spend categories including Capital Equipment, Services, Maintenance Repair &amp; Operations (MRO), and Fabrication. A successful candidate will drive cost efficiency, supplier performance, and process improvement efforts in support of Starlink’s mission to provide high speed internet access to underserved areas of the world. RESPONSIBILITIES:  <ul> <li>Analyze supplier spending and capacity to facilitate and support overall supplier negotiation and engagement strategies</li> <li>Participate, support, and execute long-term agreements with strategic suppliers</li> <li>Lead supplier quality, development, and performance teams to execute the strategic procurement vision</li> <li>Be the go to” resource for engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and new product introduction teams when determining best value suppliers, NPI sourcing plans, make vs. buy, should cost, buy complete strategies, and lead times, etc.</li> <li>Build cross-functional teams and champion continuous improvement initiatives for cost, quality, and delivery</li> <li>Drive design for manufacturability reviews with support from supplier quality and engineering</li> <li>Champion value add and value engineering projects to improve part quality and reduce cost</li> <li>Proactively update SpaceX management and engineering teams on all critical supply issues</li> <li>Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships</li> <li>Visit suppliers facilities and accurately assess technical capability, equipment, and capacity</li> <li>Execute MRP planning messages for production parts.</li> <li>Resolve purchase order discrepancies and invoice issues</li> <li>Analyze procurement data and report metrics</li> <li>Interpret the conditions and terms of contracts including fiscal and legal implications and advise management on all significant procedures and regulations affecting the contract</li> <li>Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures and government regulations</li> <li>Act as liaison with external and internal customers on all matters affecting contractual agreements</li> <li>Perform advanced quantitative and business process analyses to identify financial impacts of decisions, cost improvement and performance for assigned categories</li> <li>Create sourcing strategies for assigned categories to reduce risk and meet targets for the purchasing department including, but not limited to, payment terms, cash targets, and cost savings</li> </ul> BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: <ul> <li>Advanced degree and 4+ years of experience working in one or more of the following; OR bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of experience working in one or more of the following; OR 10+ years of experience working in one or more of the following in lieu of a degree:</li> <ul> <li>Engineering</li> <li>Purchasing</li> <li>Contract negotiation</li> <li>Material or production planning</li> <li>Operations or supply chain management</li> <li>Material cost control</li> <li>Master production scheduling</li> <li>Capital equipment sourcing</li> </ul> <li>2+ years of prior direct leadership or experience leading/managing a team</li> </ul> PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: <ul> <li>Master’s degree or PhD</li> <li>5+ years of experience working on contracts or commodity spend worth at least $100 million</li> <li>10+ years of experience in supply chain, operations, engineering, or production</li> <li>Technical procurement, manufacturing, or electronic component and board-level commodity experience</li> <li>Proven track record of leadership and team-building skills</li> <li>Experience in production purchasing preferred</li> <li>Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills</li> <li>Knowledge and skills in current technologies and applications, e.g. MS Office Suite, SQL, Access, etc.</li> <li>Effective written, verbal, and presentation communication skills</li> <li>Ability to learn quickly and prioritize appropriately to meet customer and company needs</li> <li>Excellent customer service skills</li> <li>Ability to learn quickly and prioritize appropriately to meet customer and company needs</li> <li>Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to respond quickly to a fast-moving and ever-changing environment</li> <li>Conducts all activities with the highest integrity</li> <li>Previous work experience reading datasheets, drawings, and blueprints</li> </ul> ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: <ul> <li>May need to work irregular hours with global suppliers in different time zones</li> <li>Able to travel for short and extended trips as needed</li> <li>Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed</li> </ul> COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Pay range:     Global Supply Manager: $125,000.00 - $180,000.00/per year Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience. Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock, stock options, or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
