RESPONSIBILITIES: <ul> <li>Manage all facets of labor/employment, consumer, contractual, commercial, other kinds of legal disputes, and third party discovery</li> <li>Conduct internal investigations; direct litigation strategy; draft and review discovery requests/responses, pleadings, and briefs; negotiate settlements; and participate in trials and arbitration hearings</li> <li>Provide feedback from lessons learned through litigation to identify and mitigate legal risks and implement appropriate controls as needed</li> </ul> BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: <ul> <li>JD from an accredited, top-tier law school with evidence of strong academic performance</li> <li>5+ years of experience as a practicing attorney, including law firm, in-house, and/or government experience</li> <li>Litigation experience, including trial/arbitration hearing and other “in-court” experience</li> </ul> PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: <ul> <li>First or second chair trial experience</li> <li>Professional experience that includes working as a judicial law clerk or litigation attorney within nationally recognized law firms, a dynamic, fast-paced organization, and/or government agency</li> <li>Significant experience in at least one of the following areas: employment, commercial disputes, consumer disputes, products liability, personal injury, international litigation, or environmental litigation</li> <li>Prior in-house experience or client relationships with high-growth companies</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and build strong relationships with other business groups and/or clients</li> <li>Proven ability to work both collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment</li> <li>Bar membership in California, Texas, or Florida</li> <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills</li> </ul> ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: <ul> <li>Must be willing to travel up to 10% of the time </li> <li>Must be admitted to the bar, in good standing, in at least one U.S. State</li> <li>This position is based in Hawthorne, CA and requires being onsite - remote work not considered</li> <li>Must be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed</li> </ul> COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Pay range: Counsel, Litigation: $190,000.00 - $245,000.00/per year Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience. Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
