JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the team to advance state-of-the-art wireless technology, including generating patents.
Participate in standard bodies and OSS community to make technical contributions.
Investigate new research areas to realize Sony vision.
Collaborate with our global teams in the world to reach an optimal outcome.

QUALIFICATIONS
Your qualifications and experience should include:
Ph.D. degree, or Master’s degree with 3 years of experience, in electrical/communication engineering or in Computer Science.
Excellent wireless communication background including system or link level aspects.
Experience in wireless LAN systems, cellular systems, sensor network technologies, distributed networking technologies, or wireless PAN systems.
A good knowledge of wireless LAN protocol. Experience on wireless LAN (IEEE802.11) MAC/PHY layers protocol design and/or analysis is preferred.
Experience in WLAN standard (802.11ac/ax/be/bn, etc.) development or 3GPP is preferred.
Experience in link level or system level simulation (e.g, ns-3) is preferred.
Experience in cross-layer system design is preferred.
Essential programming language knowledge, such as Matlab, C/C++, and Python, is required.
Excellent oral and written communications skills. Ability to propose new features, drive consensus, and capture the results in writing in the form of designs, models, and requirements.
Flexibility and adaptability to work and collaborate with researchers in global locations, internally and externally.

Annual incentive bonus
The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $160,000 to $170,000. In addition to the annual base salary, this role has an annual bonus target of 10%. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
