This role requires a strategic leader who can balance business development, operational execution, and cross-functional collaboration. </p> <p>In this role, you will own the strategy and execution for VA partnerships, including expanding referral volume, optimizing operational efficiency, and developing long-term relationships with VA Medical Centers (VAMCs) and key government stakeholders. You will lead a high-performing national Account Management team, ensuring they have the structure, tools, and support needed to execute at scale while focusing on strategic initiatives that position SonderMind for future growth in the military and government mental health space.</p> <p>Beyond the VA, you will also play a critical role in SonderMind’s broader expansion into military and government partnerships, identifying opportunities with DOD, TRICARE, and other agencies to diversify revenue and expand SonderMind’s impact. You will collaborate closely with Executive Leadership, Finance, Product, and Operations teams to ensure the business is well-positioned for sustainable growth.</p> <p>This is a high-impact, high-visibility role for a leader who thrives in fast-paced, results-driven environments and is passionate about improving mental health access for veterans and military communities. You will be expected to own and grow this business segment, influence key stakeholders internally and externally, and ensure SonderMind remains a market leader in veteran and military mental health care.<br /><br /></p> <h2>What you’ll do</h2> <p>This role requires a strategic leader who understands the nuances of government partnerships, VA processes, and the broader military healthcare ecosystem. You have a proven ability to scale businesses, build high-performing teams, and navigate complex external relationships to drive sustainable growth. You thrive in fast-paced, high-growth environments, balancing big-picture strategy with hands-on execution.</p> <ul> <li>8+ years of experience in partnerships, business development, or operations, with a track record of scaling revenue-generating programs</li> <li>Experience working in military, government, or VA-related organizations is strongly preferred, particularly in government healthcare, federal contracting, or military behavioral health initiatives.</li> <li>Demonstrated success managing external relationships, particularly with government entities, payors, or healthcare systems, to execute high-impact partnerships</li> <li>Strong cross-functional leadership experience, effectively aligning teams across operations, product, finance, and provider networks to drive business growth.</li> <li>Deep analytical and financial skillset, with the ability to assess market opportunities, build business cases, and drive data-informed decision-making</li> <li>Experience with growth-stage startups, navigating rapid scaling, operational complexity, and resource constraints</li> <li>Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence senior executives and external partners</li> <li>Familiarity with digital health operations and the mental healthcare industry, including VA partnerships, payor relationships, provider networks, and patient engagement models<br /><br /></li> </ul> <h2><strong>Our Benefits </strong></h2> <p>The anticipated salary range for this role is $145,000 - $165,000. Final compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, skills, education, and past performance.
