We are currently seeking an ADABAS DBA to join our team.
Essential functions:
ADABAS Systems Support, Utilities and Installation
Entire Net-work installation and support
ADABAS Review installation and support
Natural Programming a plus
ISPF, MVS Utilities, CLISTS, JCL and CICS knowledge
Use Adabas, Natural, EntireX and Adabas SQL Gateway to develop innovative solutions to customer business needs across mainframe and Open Systems platforms.
Develop appropriate systems documentation as required by client/project needs.
Establish database replication using z/OS /MVS Event Replicator and/or Adabas SQL Gateway.
Conduct disaster recovery planning to promote business continuity and data integrity.
Establish and maintain Adabas database procedures and standards.
Assisting in database design
Educating users
Minimum Requirements
Requires a strong technical background in all mainframe and/or Open Systems technologies with extensive hands-on experience.
Have a high level of knowledge of all SAG products, and an ability to work with them in a highly customized environment.

Natural (& subproducts: Natural Security, NaturalONE, Nat DB2)

Adabas Review

Adabas SQL Gateway (CONNX)
Require ability to install/upgrade the products, code/revise customizations using a variety of technologies (including Natural), and debug complex system problems (including dump reading and performance and tuning).
5 Years technical experience
University Degree (B.S.) a plus
REHOSTING
Experience with Mainframes:
Proficiency in mainframe environments, particularly with Software AG products such as Adabas, Natural, or any related products.
Linux Expertise:
Strong command of Linux operating systems, including experience with system administration, configuration, and troubleshooting.
Cloud Expertise:
General Knowledge of Azure, AWS, and Google cloud is preferred
Migration and Rehosting Knowledge:
Proven experience in migrating applications and databases from mainframe to Linux environments, including understanding of common challenges and solutions.
Scripting and Automation:
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl to automate tasks and processes during migration.
Database Management:
Experience with managing database structures, configurations, and optimizations on Linux, particularly with Adabas or DB2.
Integration and Middleware Skills:
Understanding of how to integrate applications and data flows between mainframes and open systems, utilizing tools or middleware where necessary.
Understanding of Networking:
Familiarity with networking concepts and configuration in both mainframe and Linux environments to ensure seamless data communication post-migration.
Performance Analysis and Tuning:
Ability to assess current performance metrics and optimize applications and databases for their new Linux environment.
Soft Skills
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills-Strong analytical skills to identify potential issues during migration and develop effective solutions.
Communication and Collaboration-Excellent communication skills to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Attention to Detail-Precision in documenting processes and changes to ensure accuracy and avoid disruptions.
Adaptability and Learning Capability-Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies related to rehosting and systems management.
Qualifications
Certifications-Relevant certifications in Linux administration, database management, or mainframe technologies can be advantageous.
Experience-A minimum of 5 years of experience in IT, focusing on systems migration, application development, or infrastructure management.

Compensation
The annual base salary range for this position is $130,000 - $145,000.
This position is also eligible for a 20% discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents and award agreements.
