With rapid advancements in AI, we are integrating automation and intelligent assistance into agent-facing tools—improving workflows, reducing friction, and elevating the member experience.</p> <p>As a Staff Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and deploying these next-generation applications. You’ll work across the stack with a strong emphasis on front-end development. You will design and deliver intuitive, responsive, and performant UIs with React while also contributing to back-end services and APIs. You’ll collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering partners to bring ideas from concept through production, ensuring solutions are reliable, scalable, and impactful. You’ll also mentor junior engineers and help grow a culture of technical excellence.</p> <p>On our team, you will be in the middle of it all – implementing functionality, architecting our system, squashing bugs, maintaining the health of our code, and continually growing as an engineer. And that starts with you.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>What Youll Do: </strong></p> <ul> <li>Build and maintain modern front-end applications with React, JavaScript/TypeScript, and reusable component libraries.</li> <li>Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and system design to drive high-quality solutions.</li> <li>Deliver highly available and scalable services in a production environment</li> <li>Collaborate with designers to implement pixel-perfect, accessible, and user-friendly interfaces.</li> <li>Design and develop scalable APIs and backend services (Java/Kotlin, PostgreSQL).</li> <li>Apply operational excellence best practices: monitoring, alerting, troubleshooting, and ensuring system reliability.</li> <li>Experiment with AI-driven features (e.g., context-aware responses, intelligent data retrieval).</li> <li>Mentor other engineers, support the technical culture, and help grow the team</li> <li>Generate ideas for new initiatives and technologies</li> <li>Communicate with project leads, product managers and other software developers</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>What Youll Need:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s Degree, ideally in a technical field, but we understand great engineers come from all sorts of different backgrounds and also consider relevant work experience</li> <li>8+ years programming experience, ideally on a modern stack</li> <li>Our core stack is React / Java / Kotlin / Spring / PostgreSQL / AWS bedrock, but you dont have to be an expert in any of these. 6+ years Java or Kotlin programming experience and an understanding of relational databases and ORMs suffices</li> <li>2+ years of front-end development experience with React (hooks, state management, component-driven design).</li> <li>Proficiency in modern JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.</li> <li>Willingness to roll up your sleeves, collaborate with others and get stuff done</li> <li>Strong sense of responsibility; driving a project from inception to completion</li> <li>Affinity for solving problems and shipping impactful features, not polishing perfect code or architecture</li> <li>Experience working in a collaborative coding environment (and git specifically), refining designs together, working through code reviews and managing pull requests</li> <li>Mentor junior developers</li> <li>Understanding of operational excellence and its importance. Has experience in various monitoring tools such as DataDog. </li> <li>Expert programming skills with solid fundamentals. </li> <li>Understanding of AI terminology is a plus</li> </ul><div><div><strong>Compensation and Benefits</strong></div> <div>The base pay range for this role is listed below.
