This is an exciting role for someone looking to make a direct impact on the revenue and profitability of SoFi’s Credit Card business.</p> <p>As a Senior Data Scientist in our pricing team, you will be responsible for working with cross-functional teams and leaders to develop, launch, and scale pricing initiatives that meet the needs of our customers and the business. You will combine a strong understanding of business strategy, market dynamics, and product development with advanced data analysis to drive performance, optimize pricing structures, and maximize customer and business impact. You will work closely with stakeholders across Engineering, Marketing, Finance, Risk, and Leadership to deliver strategies that enhance both customer value and portfolio performance.</p> <p><strong>What you’ll do: </strong></p> <p>Pricing Strategy &amp; Execution: Design and run A/B tests and controlled experiments to evaluate the impact of pricing, offers, and messaging strategies on acquisition, usage, credit risk and profitability.</p> <p>Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize advanced analytics to monitor credit card performance, identify pricing optimization opportunities (e.g., APR structures, fees, and offers), and make data-backed decisions that improve profitability and user experience.</p> <p>Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams - including Risk, Business, Finance, Marketing, Engineering and Product - to ensure successful design, testing, and implementation of pricing initiatives from concept to launch.</p> <p>Market Research &amp; Insights: Conduct competitive benchmarking and market research to assess credit card pricing trends, promotional offers, and customer preferences to inform product positioning.</p> <p>KPIs &amp; Metrics<strong>:</strong> Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure product success, and drive improvements based on these insights.</p> <p>Pricing Modeling:<strong> </strong>Collaborate with the Pricing Data Science team to build and enhance analytical models that inform pricing decisions - such as elasticity, profitability, sensitivity, and optimization models - to support business strategy and improve financial outcomes</p> <p>Customer-Centric Focus:<strong> </strong>Ensure that products meet customer expectations and are positioned to deliver maximum value and satisfaction.</p> <p>Leadership: Lead pricing and product development initiatives, mentor team members, and communicate effectively with senior leadership to drive business outcomes.</p> <p>Continuous Improvement: Analyze product feedback, usage data, and performance metrics to drive continuous product iterations and improvements.</p> <p><strong>What you’ll need:</strong></p> <ul> <li>B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Statistics, Operations Research, Engineering, Mathematics or a related quantitative field is required for this position. M.B.A preferred, not required.</li> <li>5+ years of industrial experience working  in the credit card industry in an analytics, business strategy, pricing, or related role</li> <li>Strong understanding of Credit Card PnL (profit and loss) drivers</li> <li>Proven track record of end-to-end experience in utilizing and laying strategic framework for model development, testing, implementation and performance tracking in the financial services industry</li> <li>Knowledge and understanding of statistical and econometric modeling methods for significance testing and causal inference.</li> <li>Strong programming skills in SQL, Python and proficiency in Tableau</li> <li>Ability to work in a dynamic, cross-functional environment, with strong attention to detail</li> <li>Effective communication skills and ability to explain complex concepts in simple terms</li> <li>Strong relationship building and collaborative skills</li> <li>Excels in a fast moving environment with outstanding stakeholder management abilities</li> <li>Exceptional problem-solving skills</li> </ul> <p><strong>Nice to have:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience in building pricing models/strategies;</li> <li>Experience working with product and/or engineering teams </li> </ul><div><div><strong>Compensation and Benefits</strong></div> <div>The base pay range for this role is listed below.
