Our candidate will be responsible for all aspects of fraud investigations as it relates to our Money/CC/Investment/PL. Key responsibilities include conducting in-depth research and completing complex fraud investigations, liaising with federal/state/local law enforcement, identifying recovery opportunities, responding to subpoena requests, and completing special projects as requested by management.  </p> <p><strong>What you’ll do: </strong></p> <ul> <li>Conducts thorough investigations and inquiries on identified and suspicious accounts within the specified systems </li> <li>Prepares cases for criminal prosecution and presents evidence to appropriate law enforcement agencies for prosecution</li> <li>Prepares Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR) in compliance with established regulatory guidelines and time frames</li> <li>Serves as a liaison with law enforcement agencies and other institutions to ensure SoFi is informed of all relevant potential risks</li> <li>Serves as needed to provide testimony in criminal and civil proceedings to the grand jury and/or trial court, as well as files necessary regulatory reports</li> <li>Investigate and gather information on suspected fraud cases, including contacting financial institutions and/or clarifying customer statements as necessary</li> <li>Identify fraud trends, make recommendations for new strategies to prevent additional losses, and assume responsibility for special projects as assigned by Management </li> <li>Analyzes and reviews potentially fraudulent activity to ensure minimal loss to the organization. Coordinates cross-functional communication to resolve fraud situations and provides recommendations to resolve fraud and protect our members</li> <li>Conduct periodic internal account/customer reviews to identify potentially fraudulent activity </li> <li>Compile information from multiple channels and determine which accounts need to be restricted and or liquidated/closed</li> <li>Respond promptly and exercise exceptional communication skills to optimize each contact with customers, partners, and external vendors/banks </li> <li>Assists with creating and implementing policies and procedures across all teams </li> <li>Provides internal support to other business units on fraud-related issues</li> <li>Builds and maintains thriving relationships between partners and vendors, cultivating a culture of collaboration, transparency, and mutual success</li> <li>Fosters a culture of accountability, collaboration, speed, innovation, excellence, and a fun work environment while continuously elevating the quality and caliber of our fiscal controls</li> <li>Works effectively across the organization to maximize company resources</li> </ul> <p><strong>What you’ll need:</strong></p> <ul> <li>5+ years of relevant fraud experience in conducting complex financial crime investigations </li> <li>Must be able to interview fraud suspects, demonstrate strong presentation skills, and organized to communicate complex data and facts leading to an admission of involvement</li> <li>Proficiency in Google, Excel, and PowerPoint</li> <li>SQL experience strongly preferred</li> <li>Proficient knowledge of ACH, wire, Zelle, ACATs, and other payment channels operating rules </li> <li>Expert knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, and other applicable laws and regulations</li> <li>Outstanding time management skills and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with all levels within the organization in a collaborative manner</li> <li>Must be able to establish peer relationships and communicate effectively with multiple company disciplines, cross-functional, and external teams, including regulators, Senior Leadership, and law enforcement agencies</li> <li>Excellent project management, organizational, and negotiation skills are required </li> <li>The ability to apply sound judgment effectively solves problems and determines fraudulent activity consistently</li> <li>Understanding of electronic crimes as they relate to fraud and theft of credentials</li> <li>Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills</li> <li>Detail-oriented and process-oriented approach who can handle multiple cases concurrently requiring multi-tasking skills</li> <li>Accepts responsibility, ownership, and accountability for work results</li> <li>Finds a high-volume, dynamic, and team-focused environment engaging</li> </ul> <p> </p><div><div><strong>Compensation and Benefits</strong></div> <div>The base pay range for this role is listed below.
