We are looking for a Hardware Design Engineer. This position will be based at Siemens Industrial Automation Center in Johnson City, TN. You’ll make an impact by: <ul> <li>Participates in the development of electronic hardware for embedded controllers and input / output devices used in industrial control products.</li> <li>The engineer will analyze, test, verify, troubleshoot, and support implemented electronic hardware solutions. Review and create process documents, design documents, and fault insertion test designs for automation products, supporting both existing designs (updates and redesigns) and potential new designs.</li> <li>The engineer works on a team that is responsible for the lifecycle of automation control equipment (PLC). Such activities include circuit design, circuit analysis, schematic entry, component selection, developing engineering specifications, PCB design, maintaining manufacturability, and verification/validation through planning &amp; testing.</li> <li>The engineer will collaborate with international Research &amp; Development teams on similar products and with international factory teams during development and production phases. The position reports to the Functional Safety Engineering Project Manager and works with the team in which work is assigned under the direction of the Hardware Technical Lead Engineer.</li> </ul> You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications: Basic Qualifications: <ul> <li>Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.</li> <li>1+ years of direct experience in designing or testing of electronic hardware with embedded controllers, input, and output devices.</li> <li>Familiarity in the use of CAD tools for schematic capture. Knowledgeable in the use of circuit simulation tools (SPICE).</li> <li>Good work-ethics and attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Self-motivated and results-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.</li> <li>Strong quality orientation with the ability to improve existing processes and approaches.</li> <li>Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship</li> </ul> Preferred Qualifications: <ul> <li>Demonstrates good interpersonal communication, and teamwork skills.</li><li>Masters in Engineering related field</li> <li>Lead and train technicians as you grow in knowledge and expertise.</li> <li>Familiarity with Automation engineering system like Siemens TIA Portal - including Fundamental LAD and SCL language programming, is a plus.</li> <li>Experience in the development of functional safety systems.</li> </ul> You’ll benefit from: <ul> <li>Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to our employees.
