We provide our customers with the most competitive shipping rates, print labels, automated international documents, shipment tracking, facilitate the returns process and more.</div><div><br /></div><div>Responsibilities</div><div><span>- Implement, test, and deploy software services with high SLAs that can handle millions of requests a day with a BDD approach</span></div><div><span>- Verify and ensure performance and correctness of systems in response time and throughput</span></div><div><span>- Refactor existing systems for optimal performance and reuse</span></div><div><span>- Contribute to design reviews, participate rigorously in peer reviews, and build automated test suites for new features, products, and systems</span></div><div><span>- Work with a sense of urgency and iterate quickly in an Agile process</span></div><div><span>- Exceptional problem solving skills: demonstrated ability to understand business challenges and translate those into technical solutions</span></div><div><span>- Join the on-call rotation and respond quickly to system incidents</span></div><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>5+ years of experience in software development</li><li>Coding experience in server-side programming languages (e.g. Python, Go, Java, Ruby) as well as database languages (SQL)</li><li>Experience working with server-side MVC frameworks (e.g. Django, .NET, Spring, Rails, Phoenix)</li><li>Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and familiarity with various design and architectural patterns</li><li>Ability to look ahead to identify opportunities, foster a culture of innovation, and build for scale.High ownership and attention to system reliability and monitoring</li><li>Core behaviors focused on craftsmanship, continuous improvement, and team success</li><li>BS or MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.</li></ul><h3>Bonus</h3><ul><li>Prior experience working or interacting with shipping and/or postal carriers</li><li>Experience integrating with APIs that use SOAP and/or gRPC protocols</li><li>Experience with Django and/or FastAPI</li><li>Experience using Python and/or Golang in production at scale</li><li>Interest and experience in performance tuning, concurrency, microservices, security, and data analytics</li><li>Experience with messaging systems such as NSQ, Kafka, SQS and CeleryExperience with DevOps tooling such as Docker, Terraform, Kubernetes, CircleCI, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, New Relic, PagerDuty, etcExperience with AWS/Cloud services such as EC2, S3, DynamoDB, Lambda, Route 53, Cloud Formation, Cloudflare, Elastic Beanstalk, IAM, etc.</li></ul><div>Our Compensation <b>Ship</b>policy:</div><div>We believe compensation is a <span>custom </span>experience and are commited to fair and equitable compensation practices. The standard base pay range for this role is min $156k to a max $212k annual salary (standard range). We tend to anchor our offers in the mid point ($184k). Since we are focused on hiring Shippos Everywhere, we have 2 US pay ranges, a standard compensation range for the majority of the US and a standard +1 compensation range for those who live in areas where the cost of labor is higher, such as NYC and California.</div><div>The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: financial budgets, work experience, training, transferable skills, business needs, and market value. The base pay salary ranges are subject to change and may be modified in the future.
